Somebody tell that dude that having a “bus factor” doesn’t mean you should actively seek getting run over by a bus!
Ok, obviously merging while you merge is super dangerous. Almost as dangerous as using light mode on your phone. The rider should’ve known he was a sociopath just from that.
Hey, I prefer light mode. There are dozens of us!
Nothing in life really prepares you for meeting such an unfathomable being…
It’s mind blowing but there are people who really do prefer it! Don’t forget to leave an optional light mode for them!
20 years ago, everything was light mode.
Anyway, I have it set to time of day, so it switches between the two
Actually try thousands of years. God invented light mode when he said “let there be light”. He was cut off mid-sentence but he was gonna say “mode”
average tech entrepreneur
This is a concept known as CAC (configuration as code) - the driver made changes to the route, making the change visible, reversible, safe, auditable and testable. It’s also great for the PRs merged per day metric!
Pretty normal adhd behaviour
Half-assing two jobs at once
This seems dangerous for both the codebase and the cars around them.
In case of crash
git revert
orgit reset --hard idbeforecrash
git rebase acura
Crashing and then crashing
How to crash your software and hardware at once.
When the cost of living is so egregiously high that not only do you need two jobs, but you have to do them at the same time
A software engineer needs two jobs. Which means most people need at least 4. Or 3 if they live under a bridge.
Imagine that driver working an only fans account while driving.
This is known and quite popular genre of porn.
anything’s possible with self driving cars
That’s startup life. Dude might be rolling in it in a couple years and it’s a decision. Feel bad for the non tech workers around the bay
might be rolling in it in a couple years
Doubtful given 70-90% of startups fail.
he did say “might be” 😅
Everyone who plays the lottery might be a millionaire too
might
Yeah it’s risky. People do it multiple times though and one success pays out. It’s a risky choice that I wouldn’t make but I understand why people do
You could work for a startup that still pays a livable wage so you don’t have to do something this reckless. That is an option.
likely not tho.
Not sure why this is downvoted. It’s a lifestyle choice that is a genuine choice. You don’t have to live in SF if it’s not for you.
Yeah I don’t get it. You can also work for established companies where you get steady income instead of volatile stocks but you’re not going to be able to retire super early with a work life balance that way
Exactly. I got a drive by downvote which is a shame. Some people are in a situation where they’re happy to take a risk, and know that if it fails they won’t be destitute, and sometimes you might be paid more to account for the risk. Or less, but you get stock options to account for the risk. They’re all valid options as long as you’re not forced into it.
don’t merge and drive
he can merge without looking
“Hahahaha, merging this code is so fucking funny, it makes me want to merge without looking!”
Big Gasoline truck explodes
“Yeah, Elon!”
Do NOT let me do this, I will actually be rage-merging on the road. “LFGTM 😡” bypass branch protection rules
force push to master
Yo Dawg, I heard you like merging. …
probably the only time they can actually successfully merge
It’s worth mentioning that this guy and the “Uber driver” works in the same company
man i hate those stupid phone holder thingys so much
You know those motorised lifts they install in old peoples homes to help them get upstairs?
Those things drive me up the fucking wall.
Do you create Puerto Ricos while you’re being driven up there?
They’re good for holding a phone for mapping and the like, where you don’t touch the phone
Science fiction or San Francisco?
San Fierro
Sioux Falls!
As long as the maniac with his model planes isn’t around that should be safe.
