There are so many things the Linux kernel project does just right. One of them is “never break user space”.
Unfortunately most projects completely fail to get why this is important.
I think one of the worst examples is the enormous setback it caused when Python was “upgraded” from 2 to 3, which meant breakage of huge amounts of libraries, that were never fixed, and was extremely detrimental to Python. The kernel respects user-space, but actual user front ends do not!?!?!
KDE generally does the same when they upgrade to new versions of QT.

I speak absolutely zero Spanish, yet I understand the post text about 80%, enough to get the gist of it.

I never claimed they didn’t remove those lines.
But your screen size is NOT personal info. Also this line was in my previous post:
Mozilla uses this data to enhance Firefox while respecting your privacy.
So how do you imagine selling personal data is respecting privacy?
Again what you are doing could be libel, you have zero evidence to back up your claim, it’s pure speculation.
You probably missed the news.
No I did not, but did you ever stop to wonder why there is so much anti Firefox propaganda, as Google is trying to prevent ad-blockers?
Manage technical and interaction data collection settings in Firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/technical-and-interaction-dataWhat is technical and interaction data?:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/technical-and-interaction-data#w_what-is-technical-and-interaction-datainformation about how Firefox functions on your device and how you use its features. This includes performance details like page load times, and memory usage, as well as insights into which Firefox features you interact with, such as bookmarks, tabs or settings. Additionally, it collects general device information, including your operating system, browser version and hardware specifications. Mozilla uses this data to enhance Firefox while respecting your privacy.
There is zero, zip, zilch, nada personalo info collected.
So please point out to me which of these it is that worries you?
Also please point out which of these it is you think Mozilla would be able to sell?Firefox is becoming a data seller too.
I think that technically that is libel!
Or you can just opt out if you don’t think Mozilla should have this data which is strictly about the browser and whether it’s the default browser, and which in no way compromises any personal info.
Just because something uses telemetry doesn’t mean it’s used in a way that compromises your personal data.
Google, Microsoft, Facebook and many others do that, Mozilla/Firefox does not.

False equivalence.
Firefox is CLEARLY without a doubt the better choice in every aspect that has to do with abuse of privacy and power.

41·5 months agoOK fair enough, but that’s not what it looked like to me when I read the headline.
I don’t use anything Microsoft, and I use only very few Google things for basic functionality of my phone.

71·5 months agoWhat? How was Mozilla ever in any kind of OS integrated way in bed with Google?
Google was just the default search engine in their browser. That’s it, and it’s dead easy to change the default search engine in Firefox. Why are you making a completely false equivalence, to make Mozilla look bad? Also Firefox is open source, so Mozilla even lets you use a fork, with all the functionality of Firefox with whatever you don’t like changed.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•What's your favourite OS that does not use systemd?
17·5 months agoI suppose that would be Android, since that’s the only non systemd OS I use.
That’s the point isn’t it? Or did you mean that with a question mark attached?
The only correct answer is D, and it got the least votes. 😋
And AFAIK Linux is way better for games now than MAC.
No this is an anti linux meme, so it doesn’t fit sub.

It’s also wrong in its trolling, because having used up to 75% you obviously didn’t overbuy.
You would never want to go completely full, so you always need to buy a bit bigger than you actually plan to use.
