It’s kind of hard for me to tell on this one. Maybe the boomer lead is seeping into my brain.

This is kind of the actual problem though. It’s hard to actually have effective charities. Even some of the most ethical, and well run charities, end up with surplus funds (Dolly Parton’s charity for example). The government is setup to spend that much money helping people though. But paying taxes is somehow bad and wrong. I don’t know if I had a real point other than maybe we should actually tax these rich folks so they can achieve their dream of giving away at least half their wealth.
Great content! Your posts are always <pick 2: neat, informative, or creative>!
One of the best programmers I’ve ever met told me, “All you need is Knuth everything else is just syntax.” And I don’t know if that’s 100% true, but can say I learned more from reading The Art of Computer Programming than I have in basically any other textbook/textbook series I’ve read on the subject.

This… this one?
That’s a good tip. I’ll keep that in mind next time this topic comes up.
I should have been more precise, I was really just talking about length measurements and less so on the holy fuckshit of everything else. I, too, would be super on board with a base 12 measurement system…
If we invent it we can have 3 competing standards!
It’s also the one advantage Imperial has over metric. It’s easier to do mental math in a lot of cases in base 12 rather than base 10.
Now excuse me while I bar my windows and doors from the mobs of angry people that show every time I point this out.
The eggs in the picture are like the most expensive eggs you can buy. A dozen of the cheapest eggs are around $5-6. Which is still like 3-4 times as expensive as they were a few years ago, but not nearly as insane as what is posted.
Also un-ionized as a hyphen (which you used when writing it) and unionized doesn’t. Which is probably why you, and most chemists, would read it as unionized as well.
I haven’t seen this shit in years. I used to browse reddit and that shit would always crack me up. This one time I was browsing at like 3AM and everyone was asleep. I laughed so hard I woke my little brother up. My dad came out of his room super pissed off. He just glared at me and walked straight out to the garage. When he came back he beat living shit out of me with a set jumper cables. Anyway, I stopped browsing reddit late at night after that.
Ctrl+f code has to be some of the most efficient automation ever written. Time spent was probably about day and the time saved in work hours is probably in the trillions at this point.
Actual meaning if you’re curious are Lemon Laws.

Why would you need to defend yourself for ordering a pizza and being shocked by the high price? Sometimes I think I’ve gotten too old for the internet. People should be allowed to order a pizza every once in a while and not have to formulate a 5 point list of the reasons why it’s okay for them to order pizza.
Can you just put “flushable” on anything and get away with it? For instance if I made a “flushable” pillow case could I be held legally liable for anything?
Just to reiterate, even the ones that claim to be “flushable” DO NOT FLUSH THEM. It’s a damn lie and I don’t know how they keep getting away with it.
