Might as well just make a working regex and call it a password

Not before they make 10 movies about how great their job in bringing democracy to said country was
Bottom right could as well be Olimpiadas do Faustão
My favorite conspiracy theory is that the stock market serves a real economic purpose that isn’t just “cryptocoin bullshit, but before they were invented”
What about going an extra step into Elixir?

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Honey the aws is down again
26·18 days agoThankfully, my family understands that stuff on the internet is “someone else’s computer”, so it’s easy to explain why something is down - “It’s their fault”
Just like captcha
“But we have our load balacing with 3 different AWS buckets!!!”

No no no, it’s Venezuelan narcoterrorists, see! Eeeevil people who support an eeeevil narcodictator!!!
The funny thing is that they tried to impeach trump twice the first time he was president. Both times failed because there weren’t enough votes in the senate to actually impeach him.
So, even if 'muricans tried again, it’s likely the impeachment would fail again because of their senate

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Most technologies continue to improve with innovation, like WiFi. What is a technology that was nearly perfect upon conception?
27·1 month agoI think sewing machines would count? They certainly got a hell lot more “portable”, but the basic design hasn’t changed much since the 1880s. Those things are little mechanical marvels

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some ways to combat the brain rot / slop and become more offline?
6·1 month agoAdd more friction between you and the social media. On a computer, this can be done by adding lines to your
/etc/hosts, orC:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hostsfiles, completely blocking off specific sites. On a phone, add stupid long passwords to open certain apps, don’t accept biometrics, leave the password written down on a paper and hide it - resist the urge to save the password somewhere for easy copypaste or to uninstall the app that allows the password locking.Other than that, leave your phone at home and try walking around the nearest park or any spot that has more than 10 trees, at least once a week. Touch grass, trees, flowers, leaves, sit down and just watch.
Another important thing to keep in mind while outside: people will forget your existence in 5-10 seconds

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is your reason for not flipping to Linux?
1·1 month agoNvidia and Asus suck with linux. With default drivers of any popular distro, my CPU fans won’t go over 4k RPM on their own, despite the thing easily heating past 90ºC.
Only on windows, running asus’ “rog gaming center” piece of shit, the actual maximum speed of the fans can be turned on, it’s loud as fuck, too. I suppose it runs at around 10kRPM, which is a HUGE difference.
I gotta check how linux support is for huion kamvas right now, since I have one as my main screen no less (the laptop screen gets all fucky when it heats up, which takes 2 minutes after turning the thing on)

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how did you make the switch from reddit to lemmy.. i'm trying to myself but struggling to ngl
7·1 month agoBack when reddit banned 3rd party apps, I just left. My account is still there, once in a while I check something on reddit instead of lemmy due to number of people.
Despite having some good karma and many years, I never felt like reddit “had” anything I’d miss by leaving. You know the “just go outside and touch grass” thing? Literally just leave the place for a week, uninstall any apps, block the site on /etc/hosts, make it enough of an annoyance to sidestep your own blocks and it’ll help you.
