The most annoying thing about being famous is having to tell everyone how famous you are.

I feel like a large majority of the hate towards grampa Joe is just hating the poor for being poor. The man is 80, he retired when his job shut down 20 years prior (when he was 60). Why would you expect an 80 year old man to be actively working? He’s 80! Let him be retired!

The bad guy isn’t the old man who retired cuz he got laid off, it’s the billionaire chocolate mogal who replaced his workforce with slave labor causing thousands to go without a job.

A big issue here, especially with the MCU stuff, is that it’s not a skin color thing with those changes. They updated the whole character in order to make them into races that are more friendly to China. They’ve done this repeatedly and stripped identities and character traits from characters over and over again.

Every single Romani character that’s appeared in an MCU movie has had their heritage removed and replaced with generic white. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are good examples (since they’re the ones in the meme) but I don’t see any way that Robert Downey Jr is going to be able to do the complicated Romani backstory of Dr Doom very well.

I agree that Ariel was swapped for marketing reasons (and arguably specifically to cause outrage and get people talking) Ariel doesn’t have a racial heritage that plays into her life and identity… She’s a mermaid from the sea… Not a member of a group with a large history of being discriminated against.

Sometimes a post fits into multiple communities.

This one is a meme so it’s in the 2 big meme communities (the community is highly fractured between the two because of people’s opinions of .ml and .world), it’s also a Simpsons meme specifically so it ends up in Simpsons meme communities.

Tbh I think they should make it so if a post is crossposted (which they know already) then when it’s marked as read, it’s marked as read across all of them. This would have side effects but it’s the best solution I can think of to the problem.
