How have they been with accepting Home Assistant (assuming you use it for home automation)?

My pi3+ has been running for 8+ years on the same card. I ran out of processing and ram before the sd gave out. I only buy top-notch a2 cards.

I just upgraded to a pi5. To handle all of the integrations and devices I’ve added over the years. Still plan to stay on the sd until the price of other options comes down again.

I am not “against” AI. I am against unfettered capitalism and how it is poisoning humanity. AI can hold the same kind of promise that Internet v1 had before the first eternal September. But because of the “success” of the capitalization of the web, folks are flocking to AI on the assumption that something similar will happen to it. I see it as a gold rush. Some boom towns may happen along the way. Some may endure. But it’s still very early to know that.

I have an old surplus QNAP. I love it. Very capable, easy to setup, easy to use it and forget about it. Mine is set up for RAID5.

I agree. But the line can be difficult to see. Pulling together should be on the lookout for excluding others.

I am terrified that all organizations like this are likely to be raided at some point. Then every known member will be rounded up for blacklisting, “reeducation”, or disappearing.
