People choose policies that might be beneficial in the short term, but very harmful on the long way. For example, restricting immigration might have a favourable short term impact on wages, but in the long term it will stagnate the economy and pensions schemes, and make people even more poor.
So… People who are hungry will vote for whatever brings food to their table today, so they don’t really have a choice, because those policies or politicians are not actually on their side, they are just benefiting from the misery of others.
And this is a clear example of how to keep people away from Linux, nothing push more people out of a community than shamming.
Although that’s true, it’s still an issue. I don’t think anyone is blaming Linux for this, but the issue is still there.

I don’t agree. I had lots of issues with printers, scanners, cameras, fingerprintreader, styluses. Yes, regular hardware, no issue, peripherals? Different story.
I know this is an issue from the manufacturers, but it’s still an issue.

That’s my point. If he used a copyrighted/copylefted font, he might be in trouble. But he doesn’t get in trouble just for using an unicode character.
That’s a font/design issue, not a character issue. If that were the case, then no one could use letters (or unicode characters) for their logo.
