I completely agree with you with the caveat that on rare occasions it can. I am personally very excited to see what directer Denis Villeneuve will do with Rendevous With Rama. That book is almost begging for a faithful screen adaptation since so much of it is describing the scale and layout of the inside of the O’Neill cylinder. I say this as someone who is known in my friendgroup for always hating adaptations and reboots, etc.
I was just telling my SO the other day that I think the two cutest animals are baby turtles and red pandas
now that is a throwback and a half

It’s a short story of his that is also called “Beyond the Aquila Rift”
this is one of two stories in that series that are based on the works of Alastair Reynolds!

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How long has it been since you left the house?
5·8 months agoVery good advice! I have a tendency to be a shut in and during the covid-19 pandemic it was at an all time high. I learned that my mental wellbeing is helped if I sort of divvy up my living space into areas where certain things are done and others are not. Eating in one place, games in another, sleep in another, etc. Just in case that is applicable and/or helpful to anyone.

yeah but that is actually the joke I was making, anyway lesson learned
