Have you heard of webtrees? Self hosted, similar enough to Ancestry and you can upload relevant media to their entry. Not sure if it can handle a few hundred gigs but you could probably host the media on a separate program to reduce the DB strain.
I’ve used it when my wife was getting into genealogy. Still running in the background for the last few years with little to no maintenance.

mbp@lemmy.sdf.orgto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•I love it when I have to scream at a computerEnglish11·2 years agoIt seems to be about yelling at others that “you’re not a real programmer!!!” mixed with being so “technically correct” my eyes can no longer roll the same way they used to.
mbp@lemmy.sdf.orgto Memes@lemmy.ml•Great, now it’s stuck in my head : I’m blue, dadodidadoda dadodidadodaaaa🎶English1·2 years agoTo add to this, the green that you see is from the offset of primary colors creating the dark patch underneath. Since the magenta is nudged in the positive y direction and the blue is nudged in the negative y direction (and a slight positive x), we get a cool color mixing effect where the dark hues from his hair are present on his neck but it is without the magenta being mixed in. So all we get is the product of strong quantities blue and yellow which is green! Even more apparent due to the situational contrast.
