  • They always have an answer though. Always.

I don’t understand how people can be so arrogant. Religious people come in two flavors though; the leaders who tell everyone what god wants (lol), and the people who follow those leaders but aren’t arrogant enough to think that their feelies must be the will of god.

“‘at queer made me uncomfortable, and my discomfort is god talking to me.”

    “Amen brother dipshit!”

  • Anecdotal, I know.

Still, I think it’s pretty important that I share it.

I worked at a gas station on Jan 6 in an area that gave Trump very close to 90% of the vote. I seen two reactions from the common people. “I can’t believe they’re doing this and he’s doing nothing to stop it.” And, “Good! I’d rather have a Trump dictatorship than a Biden presidency.”

Even the ones who were shocked and appeared to be facing the last straw were thoroughly brainwashed by the end of the week. “It was ainteefuh, they just want to make Trump look bad!” Even years later, when the so called “antifa” got a blanket pardon Trump, it never dawned on them.

The ones who called for a dictatorship are watching with glee as democracy is dismantled. They believe they are going to get a Christian nation. They believe that all of the things they don’t like will be illegal. They are donating money to the men who are working to make this happen. They are bragging about it openly and getting their friends involved.

  • Man. I remember being a kid and dreaming about a world where puritans got laughed out of existence. Then we had the “woke” era which shocked me sideways. I never dreamed that progressive thinking people would get hung up on regressive shit like policing language, it reminded me of being in church as a kid and hearing about those dreaded, awful, naughty words. But hey, at least their goals were well meaning and driven by empathy and concern for how other people have it in this world.

Who did they piss off though? The fucking puritans. The very people who policed language all of my childhood. It turns out that nothing ever meant anything to them, they just wanted to control people. “Don’t tell me I can’t call a little person a midget! Bad words is fuck and shit! Not me making fun of people!!!” One group said, “if it’s fun it’s bad.” The other group said, “if anyone is hurt by it, it’s bad.”

Now the puritans have gone full fascist because they felt like they were losing some culture war, so they want it all, and they scream loud enough to be heard.

It’s like this tug of war that is just going to end with regular people who don’t raise hell when they get upset being shoved into the dirt by a loud crybaby minority of people.

Before I had any grasp of history, I just assumed that people were always heading toward being more liberal in how they deal with the world.

Nope, this is what we do. We have cycles of enlightenment and cycles of assholes responding to said enlightenment. Somebody always has to be morally superior, fighting some ugly enemy. If we ran out of reasons to fight tomorrow, we’d just argue over some other dumb shit.

I’m drunk, so please don’t take me too seriously. I’ll probably wake up tomorrow and argue with myself about deleting this comment haha.

Whatever happens, I really hope we have freedom at the end of the day. I don’t care what it costs. Maybe we aren’t meant to have it. Maybe our nature is just too ugly.

  • I did that for a while, and I’ll be exaggerating my uselessness but here goes.

“No, that can’t be him. See, the man who did the robbery was wearing a pair of pantyhose on his face. This guy has no such article of clothing on his face. His friend had on a ski mask, I don’t see a ski mask on this man’s face. Yeah, they’re wearing the same shoes but what about the face coverings, hmmmmm?”

  • My wife’s grandmother has a ton of dogs that roam her house.

When I first went there she was cooking for me, and oh boy that scared me. Turns out that she’s damn good at cleaning.

I didn’t even get fur on my clothes like I usually would when a person only has one dog. Place is somehow immaculate with like 12 dogs running around.

This. As a hillbilly with no access to books growing up, with my education practically stopping at the 4th grade and no stores in sight to purchase books from, I would have never had access to the things I read without piracy.

I half believe that’s why it’s an issue in the first place.

I started my reading adventure at 640x480 on windows 98.
