We’ve come a long way. Once upon a time, It might’ve said “Linux is only free if you don’t value your time.”

I guess it’s still true if you want to get that perfect Arch install, but I’d imagine most people still saying that now had a bad experience many years ago and are unaware of how simple and smooth it can be nowadays.

At first I was like “When I open windows, I let cool air in helping my pc to cool off better, what do you mean it’s less efficient?” Then it hit me, oooh the other windows.

That’s basically a knock knock joke.
A dad joke is something said in conversations.

Dad jokes can come in many forms, it does not matter how, where or why it is said for that is not what makes a dad joke a dad joke. All that matters is that sweet sweet “Uggghhhh dad” you get from your kids/teens for that is where Dad jokes live and die.

Didn’t you receive your welcome kit in the mail after your SO had a confirmed pregnancy? Additional training opportunities are discussed on page 420 of the handbook

Usually you make your first dad joke when your kid is born. If it didn’t happen for you, you might need to go back and ask the doctor to hold you upside down and slap you on the ass.

Dad jokes are classically built around puns, as is the case here.

Setting up context doesn’t make this a knock knock joke.

        Just because it’s a pun it doesn’t mean it’s a dad joke.

Setting up a stupid question just to deliver a pun as a punchline is 100% a dad joke in my book.

I’m interested to hear what you think is required for a joke to be a dad joke.

Dad jokes are anything that makes children giggle and wives roll their eyes.
