I honestly would be down with that.

Mostly because I’d love to see discord go under and to have tech support and interaction go back to websites and forums, where they are indexed, searchable, and archivable so information can be easily searched for again, and not lost forever should a discord go under.

Bathroom fixture manufacturers created a massive marketing/propaganda campaign around the idea of Hygiene, and the idea that its better for your health and safety, simply because they wanted to sell more fixtures…and the way to do that was to get more houses built with indoor plumbing facilities, because in the era before this… a solid chunk of the population still used outhouses, and bathed in portable tubs they filled with water heated up one pot at a time on a stove once every few weeks… if that. and because filling the tub was so much work, the whole family washed in it, without changing the water… usually the husband first, then the mother, then the kids in order of age got to bath in the bouillabaisse of mom and dads filth.

You’d be gobsmacked how many things like that are the result of marketing.

Milk being essential for bone health? Another marketing gimmick, from the dairy industry.

Diamonds are essential for proposals/weddings? Another marketing gimmick, from the diamond cartels.

if something happens, then people riot because no one worked hard to prevent it.

Trump is more like to stir up trouble on the thought he could come in and annex the land after everyones dead/weakened.

the fact that my grandmother absolutely, hard ass refuses to do anything that would improve her situation. Just bitches and moans and has great big narcissistic pity parties until someone forces it down her fucking throat.

For example, her vision isnt great, she complaints its hard to use the computer cause she cant see to type (Shes one of those chicken peck typers). I tell her to get a large print keyboard with a backlight, it’d be easier for her to see and use.

She says no, it wont help. nothing will help. boo hoo pity me blah blah bullshit.

Long story short, it goes back and forth for a month, with her refusing the idea, refusing when I directly link her to a keyboard to buy (it was cheap, too), etc etc. Just making a big fucking woe is me pity party out of it.

I finally say fuck it, buy the goddamn keyboard myself, take it over to her house, put it on her computer.

within 5 minutes “Why didnt you tell me about this before? Its amazing! I can see it and use the computer again!”

Shes the reason i’ve been balding for 20 years.

House quality is already in the shitter. Hell, not even the shitter, its down the pipe and in the septic tank.

and its not cause home owners doing repairs.

Its cause developers spinning up an LLC, buying a plot of land, shitting out a development of 300+ homes in less than 6 months that just barely meet the barest minimum of code (and anything that doesnt typically given a slide thanks to a few greased palms), just to sell all the homes in the mad housing rush before shutting down the LLC and walking away with all the money and no liability on the terrible houses they’ve built that arent suitable for living in.

CyFy on youtube highlights the problem a lot (and how hard the builders and bribed inspectors go after him for threatening the grift).

And I have own personal experience witnessing more well off friends struggle with newly bought houses being built like shit at best, to needing 10s, to 100s of thousands of dollars in repairs less than a year after purchase at worse.

Such a high level idiot would fail regardless of the OS.

You cant make an idiot proof system, because humanity just produces better idiots.

clicking the browse button to select the file is a hell of a lot easier than opening the file manager, navigating your way through your files to find the one specific one, then make both windows small so you can select a file in one, and drag it over to the other.

And look, its also an example of how you turn nothing into a big, complicated, multistep imaginary issue.
