My school taught me C and Python for what that’s worth. It was not for software development per se though. It was for physical simulation. I don’t know if that was a departmental decision or a coincidence based on my professors.
I found it on this site under the “happy” category. https://github.com/delventhalz/kaomoji-analyzer/blob/master/source_mojis.txt
I know it may not be an easy question to answer, but does your company really owe them money? I’m guessing that their other software that uses their JVM also has a license, so they should be more clear about the company having to license out the JVM in order to use it. This sounds like a scam that comes packaged along with some other software.
I was watching YouTube videos on Fedora recently, and they were stuttering for some reason. A few google searches later, I did find a permanent solution, but it involved using the terminal to install some video or audio codecs.
Watching web videos is a pretty basic thing that most users will eventually do, so needing to install new codecs is kind of a big deal. I think many users would just accept it as a reality of the OS and switch back to Windows rather than looking up forums to find out which packages to install. Linux is full of little fixes like this in my experience. It’s not rocket science, but it’s far from a hassle free experience.
This is not to say that I’m not impressed with how good of an OS you can get completely free, but it’s a reality of using Linux that people should be aware of.
Coding requirements could be a lot less strict if we just solved this bus problem.
Every method has vulnerabilities. If you are concerned enough, you can take the legal route and the technical route to make attacking the system require different areas of expertise.
It’s not like there is a shortage of text editors on Linux. This is fine.

As a Lemmy shareholder, I’m outraged. If Lemmy doesn’t get more users soon, I am going to stop the thrusters that keep the world turning. You have been warned.
I thought this was a joke at first.
You can drink from a well as that just gets water straight from the ground. Which well would be full of breast milk though?
The IT crowd comes to mind.
“No-- he was a very nice cannibal.”
Clearly it’s not an adventure for the faint of heart.
Interesting. I always was annoyed that the computers at my workplace don’t transfer my settings between machines, but it may be a blessing in disguise with respect to the login times.
It’s not true love if no one dies in the mines.
I don’t even remember the difference between LocalLow, Local, and Roaming anymore. I looked it up some time back, but it didn’t exactly help me find what I was looking for.
I work in a clinic with many surgeons. Luckily they don’t typically double/triple book, but it’s not unheard of. Most of the time that they’re late, it’s because they were seeing a patient from before who was late, or they got called into emergency surgery which throws the whole outpatient schedule off.
One or two of the doctors just seem like slower workers, that happens too.
