There’s a utility called DVDShrink which will reencode a video DVD-9 to DVD-5. It’s old, but I think it still works.

23·3 months agoWhen I was around 8 years old, my mother and I took a Greyhound bus across the country to visit the grandparents. We were sat next to a woman who was drenched in perfume. There’s a picture of me sitting next to said woman with my eyes absolutely streaming tears from being so badly irritated.
I’m currently backing up my NAS to Backblaze Personal by mounting the drives using Dokany. They appear as local drives and the Backblaze client accepts them for backup.
5·3 months agoThis past summer my GF took a trip to Canada and took her laptop. To preempt any fuckery at the border when she came back into the US I full-disk encrypted it with Veracrypt and I burned an emergency recovery DVD at the time of encryption. She didn’t have any trouble crossing back in, but better safe than sorry.

I’ve been using Potplayer for several years, been very happy with it.

I use Plexamp for music, and I can connect the app on my phone to the client on my Roku. Then I can select tracks on my phone and they’ll play on the Roku.
It solves all your issues. No weird, non-standard DNS records. Just turn it on and everything both on your local network and external (if you want it to) works via domain name.
The easy answer is to enable NAT loopback (also sometimes called NAT hairpinning) on your edge router.
There are ways to back up a NAS with the Backblaze personal plans.
Techincally, they’re all peafowl.
