I have a theory about why Trump himself is authorizing this. Trump is president, but he knows he can’t hang on to it. Bibi has offered to make him and his heirs kings in perpetuity of Gaza though. He’s aiming to build a new Dubai in Israel, a resort city for the rich and famous under his exclusive control in perpetuity and shield him from prosecution. Trump City. That’s a legacy. That’s the most massive tribute anyone has offered him yet. He’ll do anything Bibi asks because in exchange, he gets to be a petty king of his own little Morocco, his Singapore, his little Mediterranean paradise. It’s exactly that transactional. The proceeds from his “Bored of Peace” brigade will go to building his little kingdom, and he’ll be given a blank check to do whatever he feels like as long as he uses the full force of the US military machine to serve the Israeli cause.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Australians banned teens from using social media. Now, Australians are worried about teenagers going outside with e-bikesEnglish
3·2 months agoI know plenty of older Gen X who’ve turned into pearl clutching, curmudgeonly hypocrites and even a few younger folks who’ve developed early onset “get off my lawn” syndrome. While I’ll certainly grant that it seems to be far more common among older folks it’s a mindset we all can fall into if we’re not self aware enough.
Hell I know more than a few joyless Gen Z’s who already have fallen into the habit of being utterly scandalized whenever they see someone enjoying life a bit too much. Not all by a longshot yet, but a concerning amount for ones so young.

4·2 months agoUnfortunately the old farts on social media were once the teens being treated like criminals for existing. It’s a cycle. Yesterday’s rebels become tomorrow’s pearl clutchers.

No one should trust the US at this point, but they can clearly be manipulated for advantage. Never trust an American offering support, but always be willing to use their mistakes to your advantage.
