    Do the rom hack right.

    • Toll roads everywhere. Paid each time you enter.
    • Pokemart is a monopoly and gouges you.
    • Arceusism is the state religion and others are barely tolerated.
    • Gyms are privatized and cost per attempt.
    • Pokemon sweatshops.
    • PC access is a freemiun model where you get the first 5 for free, but beyond that you have to pay for Pokestorage+ and pay monthly. Also pokes come out hating you so pretty sure they getting abused. And occasionally pokes get lost.

  • So, it’s more interesting than this. The trees are playing the squirrels. There’s a normal amount of acorns that can support a normal amount of squirrels. But once every few years, the trees make a bunch more acorns. More than the normal amount of squirrels can eat. But not frequent enough that the number of squirrels increase. So the squirrels go crazy and hide em everywhere that year, but there’s no way they can eat them all, so there are a bunch of acorns planted.
Tldr: trees manipulate # of acorns to get squirrels to plant more.

  • Crazy how we could just pass a law outlawing billboards and ads like this. But we don’t.
There are voter initiatives in so many states, but we don’t use them for anything fun. Just carrying water for Uber to protect it from its employees or finding new ways to oppress minorities.

  • Phones kind of suck for the ‘at a glance’ function.

    • Widgets take up too much room on the home screen, so you have to swipe over to it to see it.
    • once you’re there, you’re tempted to dive in to look at emails or tweets or whatever else. There’s a whole smartphone detox market that’s out there, focusing on dumb phones and escaping attention traps.
    • Not everyone in the house (e.g., kids) should be looking at a phone regularly.
    • I don’t have my phone with me when I’m walking back and forth getting ready. A quick glance is faster than a grab, unlock, swipe, read pattern.

Smart home dashboards also seem like a perfect fit with this. A low power, regular refreshing, touch sensitive controlled? That could hang on a wall with a battery? Sounds great.
