  • There a few many reasons why plastic bottles aren’t the best option for some medications and it comes down to the technical specifications of the drug as well as drug safety regulations.

Iirc, bottles aren’t optimal for formulations that result in friable (brittle) tablets, or those that need to be packaged in a reduced oxygen environment so that you can take out a tablet individually without exposing all the others to regular air, and so that they’re easy to handle and transport individually without exposure to contaminants in the environment up to the moment that they need to be ingested.

I encourage people to look deeper into pharmaceutical technology. It’s a fascinating field full of surprises.

How about you start with yourself? All you’ve done so far is accuse people of shit they’re not doing and trying to portray everyone who disagrees as the enemy. You’re a classic case of the Fediverse Mean Girl, the one who picks up a fight over nothing, the one who tries to poison the well, the one who doesn’t consider that people have other points of views. You’re here to sow discord under the guise of trying to help people while simultaneously mistreating those in front of you.

Find yourself better outlets. Go to therapy. Your behavior is not healthy. It’s paranoid and destructive.

E: Inb4 more shrieking for calling you a mean girl, Cady. 🤭

First, don’t try to frame the conversation by hastily jumping to conclusions before I explain.

The word and associations that came to mind when I saw the image and upvoted were not “a woman is saying this, and I know because this is what women do.” What I thought was “a person is being depicted as petty af while pretending to be so classy, and that is so relatable.” Much like I do when I watch a drag queen say some unhinged shit, and then they give a sly smile and fan themselves as if they coudln’t believe that came out of their mouth. It’s campy humor.

So no, I don’t “associate the words superimposed over the image” because I don’t take memes at face value.

And I don’t know Mickey or you or your history. But I’ve seen plenty of shrieking on the Fediverse, with a few perpetual keyboard warriors calling anyone they don’t like Nazis to be wary enough of the commenter slinging the allegations.

So, to recap, I’m not defending anyone. But I also don’t believe your “this is what Lemmy does” is accurate because you’re assuming why people are upvoting, and are framing subsequent conversations around that.

  • Fascinating. You realize no one thinks this way, right?

You’re the odd one out. I just think you should know that.

That’s leaning into ridicule, sarcasm, and accusations, imo. We don’t need that, and I don’t appreciate it because that’s not the way I’m addressing you. Some of you get too comfortable too quickly.

    this isn’t just some exaggerated

But it is the way it’s presented and often used here on Lemmy. I’m not even talking about the grand scheme of things with that line. I’m focusing on the way I’ve seen some commenters express themselves, which is a real trend. It often devolves into absurd calls for withholding votes because “why would you vote for the party of genocide?” as if only Dems were responsible, childish name-calling, and accusing others of Nazism when there’s disagreement. It’s absurd.

is it so unreasonable to apply legal standards from the US to Parties within the US?

For me, a foreigner who knows the basics about your laws and whose goal is to be descriptive rather than prescriptive, it is. By your logic, if we were to speak about perceived criminals in Israel, but their laws don’t state they’re criminals, should we abandon the idea because we have to abide by their rules when speaking about their people? Why should USian/German/Canadian laws take precedence over anybody’s laws? I don’t think that’s the right way to approach it from my POV as an outsider.

Because if you didn’t give them a gun, they wouldn’t have been able to kill as many people.

I’m not here to argue the actual thing because I’ve done it many times, and it always ends on a sour note. This is how many people like to instigate arguments so they can grind their axe, and I don’t want to entertain that.

My points are limited. People here are disingenuous and ridiculous when it comes to certain hot topics, and it’s getting so old.
