It’s New York, they could easily go pretty much anywhere without being clocked as anything weird.

I’ll second the last bit. I’ve got too many friends who bought their houses and they’re so insanely worried about “well what if the paint color on the outside makes people not want to buy the house” or whatever. That’s (hopefully) a problem that’s years and years in the future, and you shouldn’t have to worry about it. Don’t worry about how other people might see it - it’s your house, and you should do things that please you. Always wanted a bright pink bedroom? Go for it.
Ehhh, there’s still lively debate, but the general consensus is that the whole “we’ll deport the Jews/undesirables” thing was mostly a smokescreen, and the plan was always to either place them in work camps or kill the ones that couldn’t work. The camps came AFTER a lengthy campaign of extermination against “useless eaters” such as the elderly, the chronically ill, and the mentally and physically disabled, which was billed as “well they’re a huge drain on state resources.”
I think it’ll wind up as slavery. Instead of actually deporting huge numbers of people, they’ll go “wow so it turns out that’s really hard” and use them as prison labor instead. You don’t have to pay prison laborers.
They’re a US “comfort food” type restaurant - meatloaf, steaks, etc. Their aesthetic likes to hearken back to an old restaurant in the 1800s, all barn-wood panels and such. Unfortunately, they’ve also proven pretty discriminatory in their practices - in addition to the segregation lawsuit another commenter brought up, they had to be sued to rescind a policy disallowing LGBTQ+ workers in 1991, and there was a pretty notorious incident in 2018 where a Black bus driver got thrown out for simply ordering food at a Cracker Barrel (the staff there referred to Black people by the code phrase “Canadians”). They’re also still the subject of a class-action suit for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act (in 2021), and they also keep getting embroiled in sexual harassment suits.
“The war will continue until everyone we want to kill is dead.”
Don’t forget that Trump has pretty much promised to import the genocide home. It might not start off with people being gunned down in the street, but it’s definitely going to make life hard-to-impossible for immigrants, LGBTQIA+ people, and everyone who’s not a straight white man.
Kentucky just allowed 12 year olds to work for nonprofits 18 hours a week.
Also, they were armed with new AR-15 rifles, which not all of them had been trained to handle yet. The rookie who, by his own admission, was handling the rifle in the following car said he fell (he was standing up) and believed the weapon discharged as the car accelerated, as his hand automatically gripped tighter due to the sudden acceleration. This is further muddied by the fact that the SS probably stole parts of the remains to cover up the fact they might have accidentally killed JFK.
There’s a good reason nobody’s domesticated them.
Their home version of Spokesman is great.
We sure do NOT have universally mandatory civics, not anymore. I graduated in 09 and my school district didn’t teach anyone anything beyond the basics of the voting system.
There really aren’t any. No candidate has withdrawn or died before the election, and nobody ever really considered the possibility even as candidate ages grow older and older.
Merry and Pippin also redo The Green Dragon again at Theoden’s hall after Helm’s Deep IIRC.
His manifesto is full of a bunch of problematic racial overtones as well.
Alternately, they can hold elections and still make them corrupt by holding them at the most inconvenient times for everyone except the people they want. “Our election is a voice vote, the week before Thanksgiving, at 2PM in a conference room in town 50 miles away” sorta stuff.
His lawyers have run out pretty much every option to delay trials, although several judges have seemed pretty damn complicit as well. I get wanting to make sure the case is as airtight as possible, but…the people they’re worried about pissing off with a case that isn’t entirely formed, were just going to be pissed off anyway.
Room and board can be as much as another 20% depending on where you go.
I had my manager try to call me in while I was on the other side of the country. He tried to tell me I hadn’t informed him of my vacation, so I sent him the picture and emails where I had listed my vacation in the scheduler. Then he told me I was lying, so I sent him a selfie of me in front of Fort Yellowstone.
Trump has already been spitballing military intervention in Mexico “to fight the cartels”, like we don’t already provide Mexico with a ton of anti-insurgent trainers and totally-not-special-ops guys who totally do not do violence in-country.
