Do You Dream in Colour? by Bill Nelson.
Great song, to be fair. My dad always insists that Gary Numan was a Bill Nelson ripoff with less talent. Personally, I think Bill has kind of a weak voice and was never destined for big success, but I do enjoy much of his work and Bebop Deluxe are hugely underrated.

2·4 months agoWhenever I visit the Balkans I absolutely devour poppy seed rolls.
For the uninitiated, they’re not just bread rolls with poppy seeds on top; they’re cakes or pastries filled with a sweet poppy seed paste. It’s delicious but very hard to find outside Eastern Europe.
I can only speak for myself, but I enjoy having a regular supply of interesting problems to solve, and the daily routine keeps me grounded.

Blatant self-promotion is generally frowned upon. That’s a rule across the internet, but especially here.
Like, you haven’t even made an attempt to engage with the community. No other posts, no other comments. It looks like you made an account solely to push your product, and in a place like Lemmy all that’s going to get you is a flurry of angry downvotes.

7·5 months agoGame Changer is their flagship show, and has been consistently great at reinventing itself and surprising season after season. It’s a game show where the game is different every time and the contestants have to try and figure out what’s going on. It goes places.
If you enjoy long form TTRPG, they have dozens of Dimension 20 campaigns with all kinds of settings and genres.
Smartypants is a show where comedians get to give PowerPoint presentations on anything they want.
Play It By Ear is a personal fave - each episode is an entirely improvised musical, which feels like an incredible magic trick when they pull it off.
Um, Actually is a nerdy quiz show where contestants have to interrupt the host with factual corrections about video games, anime, sci-fi, etc.
Gastronauts is a cooking challenge show with professional chefs trying to fulfil unhinged requests from comedians.
There’s way more on there besides all that, but thought I’d share some highlights.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What time is your cats' bedtime; is it the same as yours and there is co-sleeping?English
17·5 months agoOur cat loves bedtime - it genuinely seems to be her favourite part of the day, even over mealtimes.
If we don’t go to bed on time, she will come and yell/paw at us until we start getting up off the sofa. The bedtime routine starts with feeding her, but 9 times out of 10 she will ignore the food and run upstairs to wait for us.
Once we’re settled in, she jumps on the bed and gets brushed. Then she waits for me to turn off the lamp before she will get up and go eat. It’s like she’s putting us to bed. She then comes back and spends most of the night with us.
I’d think it’s obvious that downloading isn’t illegal in every case, otherwise you’d never be able to watch/listen to any media online.
A differentiation is necessarily made between authorised and unauthorised downloads, such that buying and downloading an album on iTunes is legal while torrenting that same album is not.
Music on YouTube is authorised via licensing. That’s why videos get routinely flagged for using copyrighted music without permission (and sometimes even with permission due to overzealous or malicious DMCA claims, but that’s a separate argument).
The fact they had to do this to earn a promotion is an institutional problem. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

11·11 months agoNot to kill the vibe (if you’re having fun then by all means continue) but replying is probably the worst thing you can do - all you’re doing is telling the spammers that you have an active email address, so they’ll send more spam.
I realise it’s not really the point here, but calling Jeffrey Epstein a celebrity seems comically reductive.
Like, yeah, technically I guess it’s true? But it’s not the word that springs to mind when most people think of him. Made me chuckle.
