Matrix is more of a Discord alternative than a Whatsapp alternative though unless I’m mistaken?
Signal is a means for message encryption, and if every platform used it and then were mandated to interop, they’d have to figure out how to do the actual transfer, yes. RCS is basically this except nerfed and partially Google-owned which is shit.
Would be goated if everyone just switched to the Signal protocol and interop was mandated, but that’ll never happen unfortunately.
Microblogs like Mastodon are excellent for following specific people, and for getting an overview of the current zeitgeist. Forums like Lemmy are excellent for following specific topics. Both are useful in different ways.
You don’t care about the many other ways that not using and supporting Chromium is better, ie. not having Google’s new invasive advertising system?
The Flips also have a worse display, camera system, build quality, battery life, and just everything than either of those alternate Samsung phones.
I didn’t say folding phones are a gimmick, I said they’re fragile and bad value propositions.
Folding phones are flimsy bits of plastic-screened crap that are just as expensive as two separate, better phone and tablet. And many apps barely work anyway.
Glyph interface is a pointless gimmick.
Under-screen cameras produce terrible images.
There are lots of reasons to hate Apple, but none of these are.
Apple uses the standard USB-PD standard for all existing wired USB-C charging, uses the QI standard for wireless, and directly contributed their magsafe technology to the next generation of the QI wireless standard, so there’s no reason to think they will make iPhone wireless charging proprietary.
No worries
It provides a massive set of CSS classes which allows you to do styling inside HTML instead of manually in CSS. It provides the benefits of consistency and reduces the need to name things which can be a big time sink. It only includes the classes that you use in the final build.
It does have the potential to significantly bloat HTML when many classes are needed for a given element though, and directly opposes the original intent that HTML defines only content while CSS defines styling.
