The US has been the only country genocidal enough to use a nuclear bomb on actual human beings, and they did it twice at that. Having a nuclear deterrence to keep such a war-mongering country out is important. And it’s been working as we can see.

Ukraine was very much at peace with Russia as it always had been before the 2014 coup and the resulting fascist gov that didn’t care about such agreements.

China hasn’t committed to any steps to address American concerns, arguing that its cheap solar panels and other green products are helping the world wage the costly battle against climate change.
