Full stack developer and privacy advocate. I like to keep the mentality, if you can program one language well, then you can program in any language!
FireWall?
Setup x2 rules for each .exe,
one to block inbound connections,
and another to block outbound connections.
Correct, ChatGPT is proprietary spyware.
If the interface would support self hosted (local/offline) LLMs, then I’m sure people would be much more interested.
It might not be as environmentally friendly as POS (Proof of Stake),
however it’s much more secured against attacks.
POS only has a few hundred validators that need to be attacked.
POW needs tens of thousands if not more miners that need to be attacked.
Imo monetary systems,
should aim for maximum security.
XMR is one of the few honorable crypto projects out there though.
However this fundraiser is suspicious and spamming, which I do not condone.
I mean same applies to the Chinese,
but wanting to look good in an oppressive system, does not mean you actually like to be oppressed by said system.
WASM projects can be open source,
just like Android apps can be.
However in both instances the compiled versions of it are not easily readable.
Also you can validate binaries against a shasum to ensure no tampering has happened with them.
WASM = WebAssembly,
this has nothing to do with Java,
but with JS (JavaScript).
JS works with JIT (Just In Time) compilation, meaning every user that requests a web page, will request the JS and your browser will compile that JS on the fly as you request it.
WASM on the other hand is pre-compiled once, by the developer, when he/she is making the code. So when a user requests a WASM binary, they don’t have to wait for JIT compilation, since it was already pre-compiled by the developer.
They only have to wait for a tiny piece of JS,
which is still JIT compiled,
a tiny piece of JS to load in the WASM binary.
This saves the user from waiting on JIT compilation and thus speeds up requesting web pages.
WASM also increases security,
since binaries are harder to reverse engineer then plain text JS.
Due to those reasons,
I believe WASM will be the future for Web development.
No clue why people are hating on WASM,
but I guess they just don’t grasp all of the above yet.
TLDR: But-hurt C++ dev has a hard time accepting that his favorite language is not memory safe.
Gitea is not really recommended anymore these days, due to being taken over by a for-profit comany + introducing a paid tier.
Nowadays Forgejo is the project to look at.
I don’t trust CloudFlare with my data,
assume they will sell it since it’s a for-profit company.
Meanwhile Quad9 touts about not logging IPs and being GDPR compliant.
Nice try CloudFlare,
but I’m still picking Quad9 any day over you:
Hurt the spy-ware giant,
by using Invidious.
Free leeches their bandwidth,
without the spy-ware and ads!
I don’t expect that average users will become android/privacy experts.
I don’t even think of my own privacy being all that important.
However systematic privacy,
through laws that protect us all,
that’s what the average joe should be made aware off and stand up for.
Yes,
But the software on it has been completely re-done to enhance it’s privacy and functionality.
I’m running LineageOSforMicroG,
with Magisk/LSPosed,
to run things like AdAway/XPrivacyLua/Blocker.
Additionally I replace everything I can with FOSS from F-Droid,
and scan all apps from Aurora (Play Store) with ClassyShark3xodus, against well known trackers, to either look for better alternatives, or to block the spy-ware in them with Blocker.
Further, a premium no-log VPN, which has been vetted (servers confiscated in the past, though 0 logs retrieved), configured as always-on + block connections without.
Paying for spy-ware,
how dense do they think we are?!
Let Google rot :)
Contradictions.
Doing nothing?
Yet you’re posting memes,
meaning you did something c:
Well, the post was about copilot,
so that’s what my comment was about.
But I agree, fck all big-tech software.
If it’s not produced by a non-profit as open source, then it’s not worth your time.
(Due to anti-consumer practices, spy-ware/telemetry or vunerabilities to worry about)
Unsure,
however it’s refreshing to see posts of this clown which actually make me smile instead of concerned.
