We haven’t had cable in 12 years. Whenever we go to a hotel we specifically look for low quality reality tv with lots of ads. It’s so ridiculous that it becomes funny and entertaining, for about 20 minutes that is.

They put their brand name on it to gain customer trust. Then they have to take the blame if something goes wrong

Revolution is one way to change a society. It’s the one that gets all the attention because it makes a big splash. It’s also less stable and often more violent than slow change. Sometimes it is indeed the only way, when incremental change is repressed. But it is glorified and should not be the first option.

I think what the world needs is people that constantly and consistently do small good deeds. Strongly acting on the currently trending topic causes pushback from the other side and ends in polarization. There are a few exceptions of course, natural disasters for example are very time sensitive.

If it were that important to Microsoft then they should just refuse to boot without the chain of trust. I’m guessing they can’t because of backwards compatibility reasons. Maybe they will with Windows 12.

No critical part of Windows actually requires the TPM. The limitation is 99% artificial. Which is why people keep finding workarounds.

OBS to display a static image or looping video and your audio player of choice going through a playlist? Doesn’t need to be more complicated than that

I tend to agree. But in the same way as hard drives have been on the way out for like a decade now, and I’d expect them to still have use cases decades in the future.
