Why is the “high end” brand Sony?

About 1998: I tried to ask a Sony receiver to deliver about 80% published RMS. After about two minutes it went into a protection mode, never to recover, bricked.

About 2005: A used Sony 5.1 HT setup’s receiver failed. The speakers said 4 Ohm on them. An HK 4 ohm stable receiver begs to differ. Speakers went to Craigslist.

I’ve been avoiding Sony for nearly 20 years. Are they doing something right for playback devices such as a CD player?

No, seriously, I’ve got a bunch of yard work to do.

I once had a series of those suburban yards. Now, my rural yard is mostly some grasses, wild strawberry, and dandelion. There’s ants, spiders, slugs, praying mantis, ladybugs and others that mimic them, and worms. I let one corner do its thing and now it’s full of bees. I no longer use water, fertilizer or weedkiller. I just mow it. It’s always green, though what’s growing well changes with the season and conditions. Nature takes care of itself, despite me running my mower over it.

I thought about not mowing it. But, I’m worried about rodents, snakes, and black bear getting too close. I should probably plant some native trees and shrubs to eat some space.

Star Wars. They were part of the rebel alliance and traitors to the empire. But, the cops couldn’t hit anything until one of them broke out a shotgun loaded with heat-seeking shot and fired it point blank. Don’t judge too harshly. They can’t see a thing in those helmets.

  • Hello good Sir and potential investor. Here at Disney we commodify the art quickly, pushing to saturation, hooking a generation. From Mickey Mouse to Star Wars and Snow White to Marvel - Rest assured we’ll always be “the next Disney”.

Our potential plans for the future include becoming a bank and going mask off to buy the state of Florida.

    Questions?

I need to start by saying that wife and I realize we are fiscally privileged relative status quo and ethically act upon that truth.

We’ve have been much happier since we sold the vast majority of our material possessions. There’s far less for us to worry about and slave to pay for. We’ve far more freedom to act morally and ethically in our choices.

We combined dematerialization with the Vimes Boots Theory of Economic Unfairness:

The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money. Take boots, for example. … A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. … But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that’d still be keeping his feet dry in ten years’ time, while a poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
