Ha, this is exactly the one I had in mind with my comment. I’ve re-watched it many times.
Me, trying not to talk about star trek in every unrelated thread:

Same. I really should watch it.
It was really, really good for so long. I’ve been tempted to rewatch it. Lots of series have terrible endings and are still enjoyable.
It’s amazing how strong the fandom for it still is. I realized that if I make it to 2066, I’ll have a favorite show that is 100 years old.
What did you play this on? It looks like Atari.

121·24 days agoIt still doesn’t rule it out admittedly, but yeah, I think it’s just a weird angle either way. I did some searching for “professor X finds someone in overturned car”, and “James McAvoy wheelchair behind the scenes” to try to find the shot, but I haven’t had any luck.
edit: the smile does seem a bit perfect. It could even be a normal shot where someone just edited the expression. AI investigating is starting to feel like a losing battle.

That sounds nice too.

That sounds like some Lovecraftian story: briefly glimpsing knowledge beyond human limits, then losing it forever.

15·5 months agoI laughed and then was surprised by the comments. Damn, tough crowd. I didn’t think OJ jokes would still be so touchy in 2026.
I’m real! I’ve been posting daily here for quite a while now. Just my way of trying to support federated social media.
God damn it

3·5 months agoYeah, being able to google stuff that’s not working has been a lifesaver for me. Or (and I know it’s not popular here) taking a snippet of some confusing output and giving it to an AI to have it explain what things mean.

7·5 months agoI just picked a random image of packages being updated.
Or if you mean the Star Trek image, it’s from an episode where Uhura and Spock are trying to fix one of the consoles on the bridge. ‘Who Mourns for Adonais’ season 2, episode 2.

15·5 months agoThe boot sequence is what I was picturing originally, but I didn’t know how to word that cleanly for the meme, lol.

If I’m honest, it really feels like a LOT of media got suddenly worse some time in the 2010s in general. TV, movies, big budget games - I know enshittification is a thing in every industry, but it feels like there was a major quality drop in such a short period of time.
There are obviously some exceptions, but it’s like a switch was flipped, and my interest was gone. GoT was one that carried on for a while, but then it succumbed to it too.
