I liked the dog, having wanted a pet as a kid, I could sort of simulate that on the computer.
Illness, death, and antisocial behavior. All of these were threats we evolved to handle, people who are “a little bit off” in one way or another, who might endanger the group or individual. This, and that our pattern seeking brains don’t like it when something doesn’t easily fit within an existing schema, even more so if it lies just outside of our existing preconceptions.
Obviously, I can’t say that these definitely are the reasons why we experience the uncanny valley, but I think it’s probably a better explanation than… Skin walkers? Or whatever else the meme would be implying.
Still, it’s a cool premise for a horror story at least.

It depends. I’ve known some people who use it to say they’re the crazy type or Republican too, but I’ve also heard it used by more moderate Republicans and conservatives, who don’t want to associate with Trump and the other authoritarians in the right-wing of the party. I’ve also seen it used by non-aligned voters, who don’t have another label for themselve, so just default to “libertarian”, because they’ve heard it before.
It’s like trying to make a person learn how to play the flute by just handing them a flute. If they don’t know how to assemble it, clean it, hold it, press the keys, and proper embouchure, they’re never going to learn how to play the instrument.
I say otherwise, & I will happily bathe in the righteous flames of the eternally damned, rather than suffer the unholy blight of pickles on my beloved grilled cheese.
