Call me a conservative, but those are not house pets
My computer “accidentally” installed windows 11 yesterday. So I spent all of today trying to fix all the stuff that broke. In the end it didn’t work, so I’m finally moving over to Linux soon.

12·5 months agoToday I broke a colleague’s app, because I repurposed an unused app registration on azure, or at least I thought it was unused. I thought that would be faster than asking the admins for a new registration on a Friday afternoon. But I forgot that I had used that registration for my colleague 's application.
So when he came complaining that it didn’t work, I just told him he had done something wrong and that he should just restart his computer.

I never have that problem with Digital Ocean 😆

11·5 months agoPeople do say “hi I’m from the US” and “hi I’m from canada”. They are both countries and people can tie their identity to it. There certainly are people who say “hi I’m from europe”, but not many. Europe also isn’t a country and doesn’t have the level of autonomy that the US and Canada (or Germany for that matter) have.

32·5 months agoAnd they are right to do so. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t really matter how much time you spend on a problem. It’s the result that matters. I remember a meme where a dev would place a “wait” function in a new feature. Than remove the wait call and call it a free update and get lots of praise from the customer.

10·6 months agoYeah, I’m not going out buying some “manly” beard conditioner, when my wife has a perfectly fine, pink bottle of rose scented “girl” conditioner that I can use for my beard just fine. Saves me a trip.
The LaTeX SE is also very useful. The official documentation of LaTeX and especially of third party packages, is often hard to read and it’s hard to find what you’re looking for. You can end up on the documentation on Overleaf, but they don’t go I to depth too much.
I think it did ‘rm -rf ~/’ and crashed. Hence the ‘stopped thinking’
This is the worst Venn diagram ever. The overlaps and categories are clearly just arbitrarily labelled. There are just too many combinations that are possible in reality, but not according to this diagram.
I get that it’s fun to shit on windows, but please respect the Venn diagram

It’s worse than that. I’m affraid of these things sometimes too. They are affraid of being affraid. They can’t handle it, they can’t admit it and they do everything ti disguise it. It’s a very primal emotion
