  • Do any full adults bitter about incidents of their childhood really think it was out of spite? I just want a simple yes or no. Like the teacher gets paid either way, and it must be awkward as fuck to drag a shy kid out a bit who is going to be wrong. I just wonder if people really really believe this was out of malice.

Johnny knows the answer, Johnny always knows the answer, Johnny shouldn’t even be in that class, and yes Johnny puts his hand up each and every time. Tim might know the answer, might not. Tim never talks. Tim is in big trouble grade-wise if he doesn’t know the answer on the next exam. So give him a nudge, make sure he knows that he doesn’t know, and maybe he will study. Cause if you let Tim just sit and space out they are going to get an F.

Anyway back to your bitterness. I am sure it is perfectly reasonable to be a 32 years old upset about being called on by teacher when you were 11.

The thing about five year olds is that they don’t communicate like adults. Also adults suck as well. Go work in retail or a restaurant for a week and tell me about how understanding adults are.

I have a client now who wants a replacement part that my employer hasn’t made since 2002, explained that and he demanded that I walk him through the repair process. Guy this thing was out of warranty for 21 years.

Ok so for you non-parents here.

We will eat like a family, that means everyone has to be here at the same time, or we all have to wait for the one person in the bathroom. Also I need help setting the table. Also I am freaken hungry and want to eat as well instead of sitting there waiting until my food is room temperature. Also I remember the time five months ago when you were late which means you are always late.

Now eat the meal you didn’t have to pay for or make and you gave me “helpful” notes about.

  • I don’t know why it sticks in my head but I read an article many years ago written by a straight cis woman who kept on showing up to a gay male leather BDSM club and chatting up a storm. One night one of the guys there tells her off causing her to write an article about how they were anti-woman to her. And from there she derived a general principle that male homosexuals hated women.

It’s like dude, there is nothing for you there, it’s their space not your space, if you showed up to my D&D table each week commenting and not playing I might do the same eventually. Also you know it is BDSM you should expect people into that to not exactly be super polite at all times. It’s quite literally a kink around inflicting consensual pain on each other, not exactly a grandma’s quilting circle.

I think it sticks in my head because I felt like she was trying to provoke something, was successful at it, and now that she was hurt she must be right about her preconceived homophobia.

  • Because it’s freaken bullshit. I am not even a car guy or a mechanical engineer but just by osmosis I have picked up enough knowledge that this is a rust bucket.

It needs gaskets, it needs primer, it needs paint, and it needs whatever magic anti-corrosion spray the auto makers use. Also it needs to be able to go into a carwash and not get bricked. This is stuff the auto industry figured out before my grandparents were born and yet his insufferable ego didn’t want to hear it.

So now everyone involved is losing their jobs except the one asshole who caused this mess to begin with. These are real people, they have spouses, kids, bills, hopes, careers, and other dependents. It’s easy to mock the rich morons who bought into this con it should give us all pause to think of the kids those auto workers have. By all accounts Tesla works people to insanity. Think of all those people who were terrified into unpaid overtime during their prime years with nothing to show for it but food stamps, messed up health, and a piece of crap that can’t go through a car wash.

Yeah I am taking this personally. I have been on projects that were broken by the incompetence and ego of a single person. I had to give it my all on a project that failed that shouldn’t have failed.

  • I chuckled when I read your insight, literally. So thanks for that.

Guy I worked with back in the day drove one of those pavement princess oversized trucks. He comes into work one day, there is no assigned parking in the lot, and someone is parked in “his” spot. So he decides the best course of action is wait there for the person to move their car while calling them and their boss demanding the spot. Sits there for a good fifteen minutes. Plenty of other spots. Guy just needed to be right.

He also was a HR nightmare, constantly bragging about sexual conquests from twenty years ago. Going into very intimate details about it. Just radiating that he hasn’t gotten any in a decade.
