  • I got up to about 120 once and that was enough for me, do not recommend unless you’re very confident you won’t die or get pulled over

It was Christmas morning, the roads were dry, I’d just gotten off working third shift, and you couldn’t see a car (or more importantly a cop) for miles, it was dead quiet. I’d just gotten the car during the summer and never had a chance to really push it. Even still, at 120, the car was starting to feel “twitchy” and I decided “… Nah, let’s not peg this, I’m good.”

That said, at 100, it felt good. Fast, but good. I wish more states in the US had higher speed limits. I get why they are what they are where I live (Pennsylvania has the best winding backroads for a drive and I’ll die on this hill), but I’ve also been out to the Midwest where it’s practically nothing but flat, straight highway through flyover states. They need a 90 or 100mph speed limit, because driving through at 60 with nothing to see but billboards and farmland takes too damn long.

never underestimate the tenacity and ingenuity of spiteful pirates. It’s been a while since I last used invidious, but I can’t imagine it being permanently broken. in the meantime – Piped, then?

If things get real stupid, we might have to employ AI to identify and strip ads from videos before mirroring.

all these people missing the part where I said “holding a shotgun” – I guarantee you’ll never see a YouTube ad on your network again if no data from their servers ever gets past your router. It’s not a subtle or precise option, but it is highly effective. Much like a shotgun.

Then you can just use peertube, piped, or invidious when that gets fixed

Observe, class. Bottom third of the image. You are allowed to look and ask questions in a calm and respectful manner to the subject of the meme, but no flash photography and no snickering in the back or I’ll beat you with a sack of oranges

  • If you look really hard and read carefully, you’ll see I also said “the second amendment”, which is popularly known worldwide as part of, specifically, the United States Constitution. If you squint, you can also see I mentioned “MAGA chuds” – I don’t think Donald Trump is running a presidential campaign outside of the US. Thereby indicating I was, in fact, specifically talking about everybody in the US, at least if you have two brain cells to rub together. It’s okay, I won’t hold it against you if you don’t.

It’s not like they’ve got guns either.

yes I’m sure the fascists will abide by the legal system they’re… simultaneously working to dismantle or otherwise work around in order to destroy democracy. Yes. Definitely.

Even if we did, what would people do? Start randomly shooting at people who we think are fascists?

all that is needed for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing.

  • I don’t think I said everybody in the world, but that’s okay, I forgive your stupidity

I guess if you’re in one of the countries that banned guns for civilians you could write the fascists a strongly worded letter. I’m sure that will help.

but I was moreso referring to the state of things in the US where the left is seemingly paralyzed between “we have to get rid of all the guns! think of the children! won’t somebody think of the children!” and “fascists are taking over, what the fuck do we do!?”
