I know that on GOG I can download the installer, back it up, share it with friends and family, and they can install it. Do the same with Steam.

And finally, Valve is a USAian company. GOG is European. That is pretty important.

How so? I’d expect getting people willing to publish their games there, regardless of the payment system, to be the problem.

What we need is an alternative store where opensource games can make money. That would change the business.

Uh… gamers are the so weak, they buy anything that’s shiny enough. Games by big studios pushing out shiny crap still make millions. Gamers can’t stop buying skins and will have wars about them too. EA, Blizzard, RockStar Games, Ubisoft, and many other companies are still huge companies because gamers barely care. Only once in a while do they massively reject large games.

Only about 1.2M EU gamers even cared to sign in the EU initiative to Stop Killing Games. There are 450M EU citizens. There are way more EU gamers than just 1.2M and the vast majority didn’t care enough to sign an initiative in their own interest.

RAM makers are safe. Gamers will just give in and pay 3k+ for a gaming rig with welded on RAM (or whatever shit it is crApple does to make their devices unupgradeable).

Thank you captain obvious, I was exaggerating, but you aren’t seriously going to tell me that French food is spicy are you? Tell that to an Indian, Thai, or Vietnamese person and they’ll laugh in your face.

French cuisine, in my opinion, is in its majority quite boring. Of course it’s great the first time you try it because it’s new, but there’s always spices missing. And the stupid traditions of “how to cut cheese properly” or which wine has to be paired with what, what is allowed to be paired with which cheese, and so on. Good grief, get the stick out of your asses. It’s food. Experiment with it ffs. Melt a different cheese instead of raclette onto your pasta dish, start with a dessert wine, have a café gourmet with a shot of baileys instead of “clop”, fry one of those apero cheeses and mix in into your boring salade nicoise, actually some goddamn spices to your shit, and stop always serving some salade when someone asks for a vegetarian option.

As I said, Basque cuisine is way better piperade, axoa de veau, andouillette and boudin (basque way), bacalao al pil pil, … they add piment d’espelette in many dishes, with many other spices. Their slow cooked dishes are also to die for.

USAians don’t have options? That has to be a joke. During the presidential elections, they had Bernie for decades, they had Warren for a long time too, and they had many others - that’s only at the national level. At the local level they still have many options.

USA isn’t the only country with options making dumb choices. Germany, France, Denmark, Sweden, Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Spain, Italy… we don’t suffer from a lack of options. We suffer from a lack of unwillingness and understanding to choose those options.
