The key is that they can automatically update the prices fast enough that it makes sense to do it. If a human had to do anything in this regard, it probably would not pay off to change the prices with pennies several times daily.

Maybe they’re not yet tracking individuals through the isles by camera, but they can easily use demographic statistics to update those signs throughout the day.

They could also have a camera at the entrance to keep track of what kind of customers are in the store at any given time. They don’t need to have any data on individual customers, as long as their AI can estimate the characteristics of the people currently shopping. Or they can simply automatically raise the price of umbrellas only in the stores where it’s raining.

I can forgive many things. People should be allowed to make mistakes.

I also know some people who are not stupid and yet keep doing evil things the moment they have paid back whatever the consequences were of their last bad deed. I really don’t know what to do with this kind of people.

I think a society must be built on some kind of trust, more so than laws, but it seems impossible when some people just can’t be trusted.

Depends on the task. For larger project I need sub goals. Break the job down into smaller tasks. I don’t like starting stuff that can’t be finished in the available time that day. It’s better to have 5 smaller targets, so I can do one or two of them that day and scale up or down depending on what happens. I like to reserve time to also clean up the stuff, so I can continue on stage 3 the next day from scratch instead of leaving a stressful mess that’ll get in the way and remind me of having do it.

For more mondane stuff like cleaning it’s mostly a matter of just putting things back once I’m done. Cleaning is a lot easier if I don’t have to tidy everything up first. Cooking is the same. Most dishes involve some time where food just heats. Clean up your fucking mess in that time, so you can start cooking in a clean kitchen again tomorrow.

It depends on how nearsighted you are. If you have something like -5 you’ll still notice being nearsighted, whereas someone with only -1.5 might suddenly experience seeing perfectly.

It’s because the refractive index of water is different than air. Also, the pressure has an effect on the eye, changing the default focus. Finally you’ll also have a more narrow vision from goggles or from squinting, which itself helps focus ever so slightly.
