Honest question; why would they? Digital clocks and watches are have been cheaper and more accurate (and as a result more ubiquitous) for many years now. I think there’s a strong argument that analogue clocks are obsolete, and that’s why teens and kids aren’t learning to read them.

It’s impossible to survive and be productive or do anything useful in the fucking heat.

Everyone who lives anywhere near the equator, most farmers, Australians, and the entire African continent might take exception to that claim. You can say you prefer the cold all you like, and that’s fine, but this sound like a you problem.

Being hot and sweaty is uncomfortable, granted.

But there’s a point where the cold is outright physically painful. And unless you’re wearing a full face mask, you’re pretty much always going to have some part of yourself exposed.

You also have to weigh the discomfort of being hot against the discomfort of wearing a ton of heavy clothing, and even all the time wasted pulling on and taking off coats, hats, & etc. every time you to outside.

For me, summer wins every time.

It’s a pretty big area back there and razors are very small. It would take decades or maybe evenover a hundred years of regular use before it is likely to fill up. The building could even be condemned or otherwise destroyed before it’s full.

But yes, if it did somehow fill up, you would need to remove the tiles and cut a section out of the wall to empty it. That’s not so big a deal if you only have to do it every 50+ years.

  • It’s hard and it particularly slows down the asset production process which is already a disproportionately slow and expensive part of development. Way easier to let the artists go apeshit exporting everything at 8k and a billion polygons because storage is cheap in a production environment.

Compression could help in theory, but then you’d have to decompress assets on the fly which takes a significant amount of processing power. The industry is trying to reduce the latency of getting assets into memory, compression would be moving the other way from that.

If you’re conspiratorially minded then you might also conclude that it’s to prevent people from having another major live service game installed on base model consoles, making you more likely to keep playing the one you’ve already installed. A kind of walled garden effect.

  • I played for a while and it’s fun. Definitely worth the price, and IMO it’s an easy game to drop for a while and come back to a month later. Helps prevent burning out. If you’re the kind of player that needs to 100% everything in a week or two you might find it grueling; there’s a ton of progression to do.

It’s nice that you can just go on a single mission and it only takes ~1/2 hour, so there’s hundreds (thousands?) Of hours of content, but it’s all broken into small enough chunks that most people could probably fit it into their schedule.
