I found more value in knowing which web browser is used because I’ve used my computer more than 5 minutes and know the difference between Firefox and Epiphany. Same with Totem over VLC, etc.

I never understood the GNOME logic rename Totem, Nautilus, Epiphany, etc… Granted, I don’t understand much about GNOME.

Honestly, Linux has progressed immensely the past decade and I only read documentation when setting up servers these days. I’m mostly an Arch derivative desktop user but I still love Debian on the server side.
The Debian specific stuff are usually in the service description (email, web, ssh servers), and they are quite nice.
I’ve had some good experience in the past. All the Debian specific information was properly documented in the packages README files.
idefix@sh.itjust.worksto World News@lemmy.ml•Marine Le Pen banned from running for French presidency in 2027 and given four-year sentence in embezzlement trial – live4·3 months agoFinancing parties is complicated by design as the French system tries to avoid interference from companies or wealthy individuals. RN was struggling because they are greedy incompetent pigs. So they decided collectively to use the money dedicated by the European parliament to recruit parliamentary assistants to finance the party’s activities. And they got caught.
This won’t affect their chances as racist voters will still vote for racist candidates, whatever the candidate. We will just have a new racist guy (Jordan Bardella) instead of Le Pen.

Thanks for the detailed comment!
I felt completely lost. What is Terraform?
Terraform is a tool that codifies cloud APIs into declarative configuration files to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
Not exactly sure what that means, but that may help someone!

And here I am, running projects for the past 20 years mostly using agile, and still very much unconvinced about its supposed superiority over waterfall.
I like both Arch and Manjaro, I like the ability to pick the right tool for the job. I can tweak and better understand my system with Arch, I can be trouble-free and productive with Manjaro.

idefix@sh.itjust.worksto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•W3C pls give us :focus-visible-within2·1 year agoI feel like this article is completely missing my point. I’ve done my share of programming websites but not for the past 2 decades. And now I’m completely lost at reading CSS. I can’t make sense of the code shown in the picture. And that’s always been my trouble with CSS: the tendency to unnecessarily over-complicate things while reinventing the wheel. They have created a huge barrier for entry to the world of website programming and I think it’s a shame.
Because it barely exists
