I’d just like to interject for a moment…

Now that you mention it, i think i remember using Opera on my phone at the time. I don’t remember why tbh, maybe i felt like it was more lightweight and faster, but no clue if that was actually true.

That’s wild. I remember when i was in high-school there were quite a few people that installed firefox on the school computer just to be quirky, since it was one of the few programs they would let you install on it lol.
So far i’ve always had good luck with their motherboards, granted those are the only things from asus that i’ve bought, and my current motherboard is from 2019 i think.

I mean, i prefer ancient code over AI slop tbh, doesn’t sound that bad, as long as it gets the job done and doesn’t have vulnerabilities.

Well we’ve seen already what happens with this upscaling tech in general. Games being less and less optimized. Plus ray tracing being pushed on us, tanking performance for a marginal improvement, and sometimes it even makes games look worse imo. I remember a time when it wasn’t considered normal that a brand new flagship card needs upscaling to run a game with good performance. Well anyway, what i was trying to say with that in mind was that i wouldn’t be surprised if games become less graphically impressive ootb, because they can just throw the AI slop filter on top.

Lets hope they keep having toggles

Yeah fuck them for being upset about the idea of living in a world where every game looks like the same generic slop

I mean, i never even played resident evil and don’t know the character, but i still had strong opinions on this. I’m just against slopifying art, and the example with grace that they showed in particular looked like the most generic slop ever. I don’t think it has much to do with fans of the game in particular being upset with this.

I’ve never even seen a tv with dp before lol, nevermind one with the specs i’m after. Although tbf i’m not that informed about the tv market. I only payed attention to it when i wanted one for the desk.

Why are you so against this? Just because it’s a smaller group of people that needs this feature it’s not worth implementing, and the people that need it can just suck a fat one? Also, assuming technology keeps advancing, wanting more than 4k60 output isn’t going to be a rare request as time moves on.

I’m not sure what you mean. I think all TVs should have displayport, since regardless of what model it is, people also like plugging their pc into the living room tv for couch gaming. I just mentioned the C series as an example because they’re popular with desk gamers. Alternatively, having hdmi 2.1 support would be another solution, and seems more feasible than trying to get tv manufacturers to put displayport on their TVs, because they refuse to do it for some reason.

LG C series OLED in particular is a popular choice as a gaming display, no displayport on those puppies. I got one myself because it was actually a better deal compared to a similar OLED monitor.
I’m confused on why you think ubuntu and omarchy can’t also be part of that “culture” you describe. It’s also a bit different for omarchy. Part of it is that it’s just another arch flavor that isn’t all that special, but everyone started talking about it all of a sudden, which made people grow tired of hearing about it pretty quickly (kinda reminds me of what happened to ghostty tbh). The other part of it is its creator being a conspiracy weirdo, which puts people off.
Gruvbox is probably my favorite theme. I configured a handfull of themes for my rice but gruvbox and tokyonight are the ones i use the most. I’m a dark user though >:)

I bought a Womier RD75 pro last year, after getting scared away from keychron because of the many horror stories. Been really happy with it so far. The only thing it’s missing from your list is a wrist rest, but you could always find one separately. It does have rgb backlighting but i will say it is pretty dim. I decided to turn it off on mine since the keycaps don’t let any light pass through anyway. Also has wireless support, both bluetooth and 2.4ghz. The keys should be programmable with VIA.
I just noticed after typing this that you use your keyboard on the couch? Is that correct? In that case i don’t think i’d recommend the Womier to you because it’s a fucking brick, weighs like 2kg or something lol. It’s nice on a desk, but probably not desirable when you have it on your lap and you keep moving it around.

I could probably figure it out if i wanted to. I’ve used Arch, Void, NixOS, and now Guix, but Gentoo never appealed to me. I generally really don’t like compiling software. I know you don’t have to compile everything anymore these days, but still, seems like that’s kinda the point of using the distro, so i don’t see why someone like me would want to use it.
You can get them to work by enabling hyper-v inside the windows vm, but this kneecaps your cpu performance unfortunately. Might not always be an issue though depending on how powerful your cpu is and how demanding the actual game is.
Yeah either this or bring me to life from evanescense lol
Yeah quite a while back actually. I think a new star wars game was announced at the game awards, but atp i’ll believe it when i see it lol. That game that Quantum Dream was supposed to be developing also isn’t looking good.
