You can’t solve the problem on your own and that’s the point. Instead of just driving past those protesters go join them. Invite others to go with you. Start a new organization of some kind in your community or volunteer with an existing one. Do whatever is in your power to do.

I appreciate the effort put into this but if answering yes to “are you new to Linux?” leads to the follow up question “apt or rpm?” then there’s a problem.

I tend to think that any conclusion that could be reasonably summarized as “I (or a group I belong to) am smart and everyone else is stupid” is not an opinion rooted in objectivity and is therefore very likely to be heavily biased.

There’s a user with the name “SatansMaggotyCumFart” or something like that. I think the person you’re talking to is assuming your name is a play on that since it looks and sounds similar but isn’t gross.

I get what you’re saying but it’s not actually that kind of all or nothing situation. I’ve never met a person that would only do FB or nothing at all. Everyone is browsing FB on their phone anyway so skip the middleman and start a group message thread. Easy solution that takes almost no effort or adjustment. Nothing will ever improve if people like you and I refuse to change our habits even slightly.

Isn’t cloudflare a pretty common part of remotely accessing your server? I don’t use it but I’ve seen lots of people talk about it and recommend using them.

I have thought about this very topic quite a bit over the years. Maybe I’m more judgemental than you but I don’t think anyone who doesn’t have a few specific handicaps is incapable of developing critical thinking skills. The people who don’t develop them simply don’t want to and that’s something I feel more than justified in blaming them for. That may not be accurate in reality but I don’t know how you could prove which one of our views is more correct.

I do wish we could stop confusing tolerance with active support though. I don’t need to be on your team to tolerate you or your lifestyle. In fact, we don’t even need to acknowledge each other’s existence to be tolerant of one another. We just need to let each other exist unimpeded.
