Absolutely true, it was more of a joke because Python is being used for pretty much anything today. I really don’t want to mess with correct indentation in my terminal.

The line between configuration is very messy anyways. So many projects abuse YAML as a domain specific language. Looking at you, HomeAssistant and ESPHome!

Whenever a new hype is going around I like to think back about the 3D printing craze and how little is left of all the glorious promises.

They are cool and a neat way of manufacturing things, but what they are absolutely not is magic machines.

AI/ML will find it’s niche and will allow for new and even exciting things, but it won’t be the end-all-be-all in it’s current form. It’s an overgrown version of statistics after all.

If we all told them more about our everyday stuff, then maybe it wouldn’t come off as particularly special if you mention a girl’s name once

Factorio comes to mind. More of a factory builder, but I’d describe the gameplay as being a lot more about designing stuff and figuring out good solutions. If you have ever felt a slight bit of achievement after getting something to work in a programming language or some engineering discipline, this game will be like crack for you! And I do mean that literally. I spent 50hrs within a few weeks on it, loved it, couldn’t stop thinking about it, felt like it was better than socializing and then realized that it took me months or years to get to the same playtime in any other game I own!

Some I recognize are IDEs like PyCharm

Maybe add NFTs into the mix too. But don’t tell wsb and the GME gang.
