At least on my pavilion, it’s just one simple daughter board for one of the USB ports. It’s the one I use the most. I can replace it easily if it breaks. The pcb is also very simple so it ends up being very cheap.
The square shaped one threw me for a loop the first time I worked in a computer with one.

In my experience, USB c is soldered to the main board while the plug is a small module thats attached to the module. It’s easier to replace a small module than replace a whole USB c port. Ideally it’d be on a seperate board too. But it might be a bit more complex.
My sister broke one of the two USB c ports on her Thinkpad and if the second one breaks (both support charging), I can’t fix it easily without sending the motherboard out for repair and spending like $200.
Edit: you can support both USB c and DC plugs. My laptop can (HP pavilion).
Yeah but then it isn’t as light (but 250 grams is nothing tbh). The 64Wh one is 888 grams. Still less than a kilo which is very impressive. Just under 2 lbs.
I also hate the lack of USB ports now. That’s about average for the “nice” laptops of this day and age. I hate juggling around my peripherals bc I don’t have enough type c ports. I do hope it’s a barrel plug for charging and not only USB C pd.
That would be awful. i have a laptop at roughly 31 Wh capacity and it was basically unusable with the 11th gen i5 intel cpu. 2 hours of usable battery life. Take into consideration that batteries tend to live at 80% capacity for a long while and then you realize that laptop will have a 24Wh capacity. Basically two smartphone batteries worth of capacity
The one machine I had that ran Millennium Edition was a Sony laptop that came out right after it launched. Since it was the oem install, ig it survived for some time. My dad used it for Oracle DB work before I got it and used as a computer that could access the internet. I’ve only had one bsod with it. But realplayer deleted all my VXD files.
You actually have to exit the setup menu(f2 iirc), run a specific command, and then it will let you make an offline account.
If you don’t have a NIC, it will make you get an internet connection before proceeding. That was my experience on my laptop. What had happened was that for whatever reason, my wifi card wouldn’t work with the amd motherboard in my laptop (it wasn’t cnvio, and it was the same issue with ac 7265 and an ax210). So I had to resort to that to install windows.
ME wasn’t that bad. I think I just got lucky in terms of stability?

I mean that’s all most people would need. It’s more of the “oh I have this tool and this is other tool on sale and it takes the same batteries”.
I’m also in an apartment so I just have basic hand tools and an electric screwdriver.
Most consumer tools are made by like 2 or 3 companies, they all have different colors but are largely the same guts within a parent company’s holdings.
Direct tools factory outlet is run by TTI. Milwaukee, Rigid, Ryobi are all made by TTI. Stanley Black and Decker owns Dewalt, Black and Decker (duh), Craftsman, MAC Tools and Porter cable.
Bauer and Hercules are doin their own thing but the batteries are pretty decent.

At least with my own anecdotal evidence, it’s also color temp. “Daylight” bulbs seem to be more of an issue.

Certain programs can do multithreaded downloads on ftp servers. Winscp is one that can do it. Idk about other software
The trick is you get the stream url from vlc, then load it up in a browser to download it fully.
At that point just do it yourself
Here’s my take, if went back to when I was 6, I probably wouldn’t have the same friends I have now, like genuinely amazing friends. I’d rather not live though middle school and highschool again.

This doesn’t have a root system to worry about so it needs less underground space. Don’t get me wrong I love me a good tree, but in places where there isn’t enough land for roots to spread this could be useful. Lots of side walk trees die due to not enough space for the roots
