But as I stated at another post, to me this speaks to the fact that we need better FOSS alternatives for whatever purposes discord is used. I don’t like Discord either, don’t get me wrong! I think this is more a case of the triangle inequality in metric spaces, as you don’t have to calculate any particular edge to see the shortcut, as well as that it applies to any even non-rectangular triangle.

That’s fair, but I think this will rather be fixed algorithmically. More users here (generally) means less users on big tech platforms, which I always appreciate :) Also I think gatekeeping ends up hurting a platform. Even “generic” people can have or develop special interests haha.

Depends on what you wanna do. Also it’s a matter of preferences. For anything more complex than a simple letter or a table I’m using Latex. But although I love Latex, I must acknowledge that for some it’s not the right tool.
