that’s what neurodivergent people do to show sympathy - very often unknowingly. folks sometimes think we do that to get the attention for ourselves, but it’s just a long winded way of saying “i understand what you feel, you’re not alone in your pain”

  • alright fuckers let’s go over this again (and spread the knowledge please, it baffles me how it’s apparently niche info)

your sleep is on a cycle, each cycle is ~90 minutes, you need from 4 to 6 consecutive cycles to get a good night’s sleep, that’s 6 to 9h (how much you need depends on your body)

now here’s the kicker - if you wake up at the end or the beginning of a sleep cycle, which is when the lightest phase of sleep occurs - you’ll feel nice and refreshed.

but if you wake up in the middle - during the deepest phase of your sleep cycle - you’ll feel like a fucking zombie and are quite likely to promptly turn off your alarm & go back to sleep and not even register that action as a memory because most of your brain is still asleep

this is also why you can’t really have a 40 min nap that leaves you refreshed, you can either have a refreshing <20min nap or a refreshing ~90min nap, anything inbetween will make you feel more tired as your mind now has to wake itself up all the way from deep sleep

so yeah, sleep in ~90min increments, my personal sweet spot is 7:30h

  • you cannot know which one is which when you see a person shoplifting

if you snitch on them, there are two outcomes:

    • whoever organised the crime of stealing baby formula doesn’t get their daily quota from the person they told to do it, and either helps or punishes the person desperate enough to go and do the actual shoplifting for them. You helped a corporation avoid theft

    • a baby goes without food, and an already impoverished parent is financially, legally, or socially punished. You helped a corporation avoid theft

is it worth it to possibly make a mother cry as her baby goes hungry, to try to help a corporation?

there was nothing short of death that would stop that man from continuing to deny the right to live of millions of people. Money rules the world, do you think even if found guilty of genocide he’d face prison time? Do you think even if he was, miraculously, put in prison he’d go some place else but the most luxurious prison available for the shortest amount of time possible?

How many million dollar bottles of champagne do you think he drank with the money that he denied those who put their lives in his hands? Is that not a celebration of their deaths?

How is it wrong, to feel satisfaction that he finally met the fate he wrote for himself?

the people we oppose have been widening the wealth gap, shrinking the middle class, and pushing more people into poverty. And in America - not having enough money means you, or your loved one, dies.

That particular dragon was in charge of denying as many insurance claims as possible without getting anyone too ravenous for his blood. He was playing a game with people’s lives, eventually he was bound to lose. His true cause of death was greed.

Unless you’re a billionaire who hoards wealth, you’re no dragon, and nobody cares about you until you step out of line of being an obedient money cow

control shift T reopens your last closed browser tab/window, it can be spammed

middle clicking a link opens it in a new tab (works even on steam! great for comparing games or continual browsing without resetting your scrolling progress during sales)

  • same way placebo still works (to a degree) even when you know it’s placebo

your subconcious is not logical, and no amount of conscious logic will fully defeat its influence

to think yourself immune is foolish and dangerous, that’s when you allow it to work even better as you “logically” explain away every manipulation you were influenced by, and convince yourself you made a decision fully by yourself. The danger gets even hotter when it comes to political propaganda that uses the exact same tricks as marketing

  • not just cheaper though

even subconsciously $15.55 will not be that better than $15.56

but in a change from $20 to $19.99 the whole first number is smaller, and that gives our ape brains the feeling that it’s not as expensive

to reveal the vibes your brain operates on, think about bigger numbers. Imagine yourself to be in kind of a rush, you want to buy something, but family is waiting, or you need to walk your dog, or maybe you’re doing shopping before work, regular life stuff,

    first scenario

an identical item is sold for $2920 in the first store you visit, and for $2970 in the second store you visit. The stores are an inconvenient travel time away from each other. Do you go back to the first store?

    second scenario

now, an identical item is sold for $2975 in the first store you visit, and for $3025 in the second store you visit. The stores are still an inconvenient travel time away from each other. Do you go back to the first store?

though the difference is still $50, the jump from $2975 to $3025 feels more significant than $2920 to $2970. And obviously many of us will go back to get the cheaper option in both cases, but there’s a lot of people on this planet who have money to spare but not the time, and a lot of other circumstances too, marketing people know it and will do their damnest to sway you to buy their product

  • i’m baffled by people who use one drive, especially in its default setting where it saves all your shit in the cloud. Even if they have a perfectly stable Internet 24/7, do they not feel weird having a company keep their files on some drive they’ll never see? do they even know this is what’s happening?

after the goose comes a swan, which though bigger, tougher, and stronger, has chilled the hell out a bit

after a swan then comes the Canadian goose, which even though it appears to be a return to goose, it’s actually the might of a swan, and the rage of a 100 regular geese

not really, but they all have the ability to piss off the wrong deadra and get cursed.

Dunmer are also changed elves, they used to be Chimer and have a similar ish skin colour to altmer. But then because their leaders (the tribunal) pissed off Azura she turned their eyes to volcanic red and skin to ash

Bosmer (probably) used to be unwilling shapeshifters until the green pact, though different in-lore historic accounts might disagree

and that leaves Altmer (from the playable races) who are technically the most direct descendants of Aldmer (the first elves). This is also in part why Thalmor exists, some Altmer see themselves as better than every other elf, and obviously better than the men or beast races. Also they want to destroy the world because they think the Aedra (the primordial spirits that used their powers to create the world and then stayed on Nirn [mortal plane] turning into mortal aldmer and men) made a mistake by staying (or were tricked into staying by Lorkhan), they think Altmer have a claim to godhood and will do anything to take it.
