Welcome to modern “journalism”, throwing together a few sentences based on twitter and reddit posts, without any research or asking experts.
She’s buying another house (already signed), so she needs to sell this one - lack of a concrete driveway would tank the price.
We are not the only ones to not understand what the exact scam is, the realtor she is working with also has no idea, never seen anything like this with him or his colleagues. He posted the thing in a national realtor group (that’s how it became news), others also have very few similar examples.
It could be that some guy just wanted a similar driveway, and had it removed and delivered. No idea if that is possible without it being destroyed, but e.g. there were instances of people steeling lawn/grass, so I think anything is possible.
But they don’t want to actually do it, and this way they can pretend to be working on it.
I mean it’s not like a sane person would pay their own money to buy anything HP.
Still, I’ve been using HP laptops for 8+ hours a day in the last 5 years due to work, without having a choice.

6·1 year agoSame, I haven’t logged in since Apollo shut down. I occasionally check my small country’s sub through browser, as it’s not active enough on lemmy, but that’s it. I’m super happy with lemmy.
