For three whole years western media promised that Russia was on the verge of collapse both militarily and economically. They said that Russia is running out of weapons, that Russian troops fight with shovels, that Russian economy is in shambles. Turns out that literally all of it was complete and utter bullshit. Now we’re finally entering the stages where it’s no longer possible to pretend that the west can possibly win the war, and the real world is finally starting to slowly seep through the walls of the media bubble western media created.
The only one deeply confused here is you apparently.
Lol, show me an article that said Russia was on the brink of military collapse and I’ll show you an article you’ve misunderstood (or some non reputable journalism.)
I ansolutly agree here, the western media was telling everyone how great it’s going, but its just copium.
But Russian media was doing the exact same bullshit.
Can we all agree that media is biased and always political.
Looking back, it’s pretty clear that Russian media has been far more grounded in reality than western media. Of course, it’s not because Russian media is somehow morally superior, it just happens to be easier to report factually when facts align with your narrative. Hence why it’s so dangerous to confine yourself to a particular media bubble and ignore all other sources.
Even just a casual glance through some of these shows they do not say what you think they do.
Choose one, your favourite or whatever, tell me exactly why you think it means Russia’s military was collapsing and I’m happy to explain what the article is actually saying.
Edit: best hurry if you want a response soon. Once my build is deployed, I’m done here for the night. And you are not interesting enough to bother with in my free time.
I don’t care about your response, I posted these to illustrate how utterly full of shit you are. The fact that you just keep digging is frankly amazing. Since you’re evidently overwhelmed by the evidence against your claim, I’ll pick a random one for you here. Go ahead and give it your best spin, I can’t wait to be entertained https://www.foreignaffairs.com/russian-federation/putin-last-stand-russia-defeat
When you say you read and comprehend, are you talking about just the tagline, or are you really claiming you read this article and think it supports your claim that
For three whole years western media promised that Russia was on the verge of collapse both militarily and economically.
Maybe reread the first four paragraphs and try again? Or, double down but, uhhh, that seems pretty silly.
No, I’m talking about the entire article which very clearly suggests that Russia is losing. Hilariously, the first paragraph you’re referencing describes precisely what we’re seeing happen now as something that wouldn’t happen:
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine was meant to be his crowning achievement, a demonstration of how far Russia had come since the collapse of the Soviet empire in 1991. Annexing Ukraine was supposed to be a first step in reconstructing a Russian empire. Putin intended to expose the United States as a paper tiger outside Western Europe and to demonstrate that Russia, along with China, was destined for a leadership role in a new, multipolar international order.
Wow… You really think the above happened? Russia was supposed to walk into Kyiev in a couple of weeks. Instead, Russia’s taken a miserable amount of territory at an insane cost of men, had to reorient the economy, beg Iran and China for drones and clearly is the subservient partner behind China.
You might note that the author’s first defeat scenario is a peace treaty that would let Putin have some trifling territory like Crimea. (Admittedly, as the article is more than 2.5 years old, battlefield conditions changed and there’ll likely be more territorial concessions but the basic shape of the agreememnt is similar.)
But if you want to pretend that the Ukraine debacle has been the glorious adventure outlined above, well, I guess enough RT, or a childish refusal to acknowledge being wrong on the internet, will do that to someone.
Oddly enough, saying you comprehend different from actual comprehension.
Most Western media has been “well, Ukraine’s fucked.” “Long term, can Ukraine survive this war?”
Are you getting confused between individual battlefield/operational success versus the strategic reality?

Here’s a glimpse of the alternate reality western media has been selling while you’ve been living in a cave
can’t wait to have these articles explained to me by a genuine western media understander
