I don’t think a country could blanket ban every email provider that doesnt take emails as it’s an open protocol; anyone can host an email server within seconds.
But you can use another lemmy instance that doesnt ask for email. It will mostly work the same way. You can also see the post contents of groups through other social media that uses ActivityPub (like mastodon)
the chad “sudo apt install firefox” vs the virgin “noo dont install a different browser, use edge”
No joke, it’d be hilarious if somehow the bird was named to Türkiye.
The list of weird site bans by turkish government goes quite long.
Wikipedia, Minecraft, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter have been previously blocked but aren’t at the moment.
Pastebin and Threads still is blocked.
First of all, you’re in lemmy.ml’s support page, where there is no user with said nickname registered in. Even if this ban goes through, it will at most be applied to communities hosted by this instance; and won’t affect the instance you’re from, lemmy.world
You also haven’t provided any reason to ban this individual, I do not even know what it refers to.
The biggest benefits of different programming languages, frameworks and technologies is to reduce code complexity. Sure, it’s possible to write all the code in C or even Assembly; but at some point it doesnt become practical.
I think the problem is uncreativity in adding those characteristics. There exists characters that are well written and LGBT; however being it alone shouldn’t define a character just by that; similar to shouldn’t be able to define a character “just a male” or “just a female”.
“antisemite of the week” why does this sound like something that came out of an edgy nazi forum, and not from a group against antisemitism?
I would’ve been ok with it if they didn’t portray Yasuke as a samurai; because he literally wasn’t. If you’re representing a country’s history; taking an unqualified person’s fanfic as source material is really fucking dumb.
AI isn’t just about LLM. Modern AI libraries (pytorch, tensorflow etc.) can be used for being trained with all sorts of data.
Whether the winner is Trump or Kamala, both of them will still keep supporting Israel; as their actions benefit US overall. Trump even had the chance to resolve the israel palestine crisis back when he was the president. He didn’t. Why would he change policies after he’s elected again?
oh god why’s a potted plant holding a hammer rushing at the competitor
Deletion requests do federate; but it’s true that it’s up to other servers to honor that request in the end
If you’re from the EU you can file a GDPR request to the site’s admin; otherwise consult your laws for how you can do a data deletion request for best chance of success.
Note that even if your posts/comments are deleted, some admins might refuse to delete the User ID assigned to your old account to prevent improper federation between instances. (If someone else takes that account, it could create problems there)
wow wtf
I’m not american so dont really know much about its significance.
Still would agree that it was a missed opportunity to not call it Eleementary way back when it was named.
Why did no one nominate Robert Eleementary School to begin with? I’m certain that Robert E. Lee would be happy with that name.
The sponsor ads work when they’re neatly aligned aligned with the video’s concept. It wouldn’t budge me to see a manufacturer sponsor a PC build video where one of their products are being used. Or channels like GradeA where they advertise the sponsors in a similar way to their vids.
What breaks it is when you can feel the ad clearly feels like a last minute insert (which it feels like almost all the time). Even the bigger creators out there do this.
