Oh, you mean Elon Musk back in the nineties?
Like a worm, growing into a second Gollun?
I’d settle for “less bad”. If Musk is a 10/10, she’s an easy 4/10, with the ranking based entirely on arbitrary numbers and few actual facts.
When an SUV with floodlight headlights is tailgating me, I ask the passenger to use the rearview mirror to reflect their light back into the eyes of the driver. When that fails, we flash them a few times with one of those stupid 5k lumen mega-flashlights. They always seem to back off.
Idaho, the South of the North. I now live in Washington, where that kind of shit doesn’t fly.
No, you’re fine! I didn’t specify. I lived with it for so long, it didn’t even occur to me to outline the process.
We had to fix it or arrange to have it fixed, then the landlord would verify it was fixed to their satisfaction. The landlord was otherwise hands off until it exceeded the cost limit. This was the norm for the area.
They provide maintenance free housing…
Keep in mind this isn’t always the case. Landlords where I used to live are increasingly requiring tenants to pay for some maintenance costs. A past landlord had us pay for anything $300 or less.
I also use Nova Launcher and had no idea you could do that! Thanks for letting me know.
I keep all my Google icons quarantined in one folder. Case in point:
Ugh, blockchain. During the pandemic, I had absolutely no work to do so my boss asked me to make a presentation for him to present on the merits of blockchain. When my response was that it’s overhyped bullshit, he was not thrilled.
I made the requested presentation but it made me feel dirty, so I alt texted every slide’s graphics to include the counterpoint to the bullshit benefits being presented.
I also had one of these the other day. I posted a comment about a place selling exotic, tropical fruit. I get a response from a user about how it’s too expensive but they live near the farm so they’d just drive there.
What’s their point? What are we supposed to do with this?
I have a fair amount of cast iron and the pre-seasoned ones aren’t the best. I’ve always ended up seasoning it further or stripping it down and doing it again from scratch.
Not the OP but it is, I’d know it anywhere.
C64 crew represent!
We had the disk drive and it put out so much heat that I’d leave my food on top of it to keep it warm.
I LOVE the idea of including how to take action. As much as Lemmy loves all the guillotine and cranial ventilation comments, they’re not actionable or productive for 99.99% of the user base.
We need more of you and less of us. I’m getting sucked into it too. Time to start posting cute pictures of my pets.
Hey fellow micro! That perfectly describes guinea worm removal. Nasty little buggers.
