151·27 days agoIt mostly reflects my own story. From a beginner enthusiast of multiple “cool” languages (Scala was all the rage back then), through considering myself more “mature” and thinking about business priorities, ending at understanding that using a good programing language is a business priority.
If the team works with a language they enjoy, they will be happier (and more productive). Doesn’t even matter if the code is written by humans or machines.
Regular uranium is not radioactive enough. The horse will get cancer but not radiation poisoning. You have to use either enriched uranium or plutonium, or something more exotic.
Black would be useful. Cutting travel costs to Albania in half. Would somewhat limit future vacation spots because I would never be able to justify spending much if I can get to Albania for free.
They were published on DVD? I’ve only knew them as videos shared between friends on home burned CDs alongside a bunch of other funny videos and mp3 music.

(this is actually a real philosophy in the Erlang world and I’m bummed it doesn’t receive wider acceptance)
It also means not absolutely hating your job. If you’re the only hater and everyone else likes working in the company you’ll have a bad time waiting for everyone to leave.

227·5 months agoThis is MS we’re talking about. Preview and Viewer are probably made by two different teams in different countries, sharing no code, and prohibited from communicating with each other, even if they know about the other’s existence.
And famously they fired all QAs years ago so there’s nobody to test before releasing.

Yes it’s fiction, but how would that even work? She would have to say every thought out loud. And even then how does she have emotions without any internal thoughts?
