Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was the scariest nightmare you remember having?
1·8 months agoI recall many, for instance trying to talk but my mouth is filled with broken glass. I have violent nightmares frequently, unsafe childhood.
It is cawcaw season on my roof.
Well I got bird house nests with blue tit juveniles on my balcony every year. They are very attentive at any chance eating them.
Started in 2023….no.
It started way before that, at least two decades of these hords of comadrunkards looking for fights, “beer and whores”…loud, pissing in canals and bothering every man and woman minding there own bizness. I poop on this meme.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•The cost of college in USA makes no sense anymore
8·1 year agoMy son pays 1800€ per year for his IT education, and we as parents would have paid for it if nessecary but it is covered by our government through ‘study finance’. Also covered is his health insurance and public transport. He lives at home, so without the cost for rent and living he will get through without debt, maybe even some savings when he earns his degree, which is required for him to get a job at the American company my wife works.
This company won’t compensate your degree, (I don’t know of any that do anymore after the dot-com bubble), but they will give you courses and further training to give you career options with higher pay.
Hihihi…I recommend a robovac. My cat all of a sudden became a hero protecting us from the new vac and following it all around instead of hiding ASAP. Now he mostly just ignores it.

aww@lemmy.world•In zoos, many herbivores get to enjoy "seasonal vegetables". Giant tortoises like the spooky season in particular.
14·1 year agoStay back from my pumpkin. I am eating here!

One can extend battery life with Home Assistant and any phone that can run the HA companion app.
I have a Samsung S9+ stuck on my fridge as a home assistant remote with a script controlling a 5V/1A charger + power switch. It will turn on when the S9+ battery is at 20% and off when at 80%. Charges slow but that is on purpose. HA monitors it’s battery health as well and will notify me when the state changes.
