Don’t have a link for the firmware though quoting from the guide I used:
Copy the update URL (in this case, to 5.11.2)
Edit the URL (by changing the 5.11.2 to 5.11.0)
Click and save.
Don’t know if it still works though.

While not having PaperWhite this was the guide I used. Though be careful if you have firmware version 5.15.1.1 or later, you might need to downgrade first. And don’t rush anything. Good luck!
It’s possible but if I were these people I would at least discover other options other than Kindle at this point.
No but recently Amazon also pushed an update to make this happen, so people who got this update cannot locally upload books on their devices anymore and have to use Amazon services to buy and download books. Luckily for older devices jailbreak is still an option. Also, people who didn’t update can still use Calibre too apparently. Customization is far better with jailbreak anyway though.
Amazon stopped the support for the older Kindles (though it seems only for store connection but anyway) so this will push people to learn new ways to read their books on their devices, a.k.a. jailbreak.
Indeed they have. Hopefully this will be the tip of the iceberg for a lot of people too.

TempleOS doesn’t have a pill. It’s just bread and wine.

That’s nice to hear.

I wonder any of those still work.

Sorry for the late reply, I’m so busy these days because of the moving out process.
Thank you again ^^
Maybe I should return to my calligraphy posts in Fediverse as well, though I’ll need be in a settled life first. :)
I’ll write one for you, just remind me :)
Have a lovely day too!

Yeah, I’ll do that when I have time. Though first I need find out if I lost the data or not. If not maybe I can even seed them, who knows. However most of this media were rmvb files, so I don’t think I can recover fansubs as text.

Let’s see if they held up for ~20 years. Honestly no idea what I’ll find out. Hopefully I can check soon.

Ah, thank you! ^^

Fingers crossed. I hope I can recover some.

Agreed! I should rewatch that.

Thought of this is horrible but it seems that’s where we are sadly. Even the 3000 year old tablets are still around yet we cannot recover 20 year old data because of sun burn and mites.
No problem!
