My brother went into renal failure because of one that wouldn’t pass and they had to do emergency surgery. He’s had like 5 now, all of em pretty freakishly large. I’ve never been able to pass mine and have had a bunch of lithotripsy to turn the stones into tiny pieces for me to pass . The pain for me is all in my kidney. Like someone stabbing me in the kidney and twisting the knife around on the inside.

There are other causes for kidney stones that more water can’t solve (it will help though)
